Could I get a show of hands on who’s still planning to attend? All the recent lineup drops have me finally recognizing what a trash-heap Hangout has this year.
Which lineup drops are you referring to? BIG EARS?
Although I’m slightly sad that Tool will be headlining a festival in my town the same weekend that I am on beach vacation where the chainsmokers are headlining. 🤷🏻♂️
Must mean Rock on The Range. Nice lineup. Anti Flag & Babymetal would be 2 must-sees for me. Plus Tool & Alice in Chains & some others. I went last year. Fest started out great with Chris offing himself the night before. Rained most of weekend. Had a good time, but the rain did mess with me at times, Twice they evacuated us from the venue. The 'venue' is Mapfre Soccer Stadium & the surrounding parking lots. Lots of asphalt. Not alot of shade. Did get to see The Offspring, so it was an overall plus :-)
Not going this year. Hitting Shakey Knees in that general timeframe.
My mother passed today. This was the song she would ask me to sing with her.
Very sorry to hear of that, Bob. My condolences to you and your family. Going to hug mine tonight. She'll be 92 in early January. Your mother raised a fine man.
Avett Brothers put on a phenomenal show in Mobile last night. We’ve seen them twice at Hangout and last year at Highwater. But last night’s theater show was a true piece of art. They played a long and very diverse set without break, plus an encore. Jump in the Line was an unexpected highlight. Love those guys.
The Grand Old Opry tonight was great. Elizabeth Cook opened with Tom Petty's Southern Accent. I swear the lead guitar was the lead guitar for Moon Taxi. Marty Stuart and his band are fantastic. Charlie Worsham played a few solos and a three part harmony with Marty Stuart that had everybody on their feet. OCMS killed it and Wagon Wheel had me up singing every word. My friend Cory played mandolin and piano. My son said it was one of the better shows he's seen and heard. The box office upgraded our seats for $30 to fifth row downstairs. My first time on the floor and worth every penny of it.
Appreciate all the kind thoughts this week. It was great to bury myself in some music and an evening with my son. Glad that massive stress headache is gone tonight as well.

Bob, that's Andrew Leahey. He has a nice band as well called Andrew Leahey and the Homestead. If there was a bigger fellow playing with them, that was Jon Latham. He's awesome and has his own project as well.
Locked in Georgia +3 on Tuesday. Took them on the moneyline as well, I think they win. Also Ohio State -6 and Memphis +7.
Annoying 1-0-2 with 2 pushes. I took Ohio State again on Saturday when that line inexplicably went down to -3.5 though. Made absolutely zero sense to me. That Memphis push was rough stuff too.
