Ok kids, pulled the trigger on an AirBnB so that means I'll see y'all there. Pretty pumped for LCD as I have never seen them. (I also just got Deer Tick tickets for the weekend following. This is gonna be a nice two weeks of tunes)
Also. I LIVE for costumes so extra pumped for this whole weekend.
Many of the artists will be in costume as well. I think we caught most of them on the last post or two of the 16 thread. cmack dressed up every day. I did Saturday. I'll probably just do Saturday again this year but I have no idea yet what I'm going to do.
Haha. I just texted that to one of my friends in Austin who's travelling at the moment. That Weller Amphitheater show is the only one listed for "tour." I'd have to guess they'll be back doing something later in the fall or early part of next year. I'm not dropping my ACL ticket, so I'm going to miss The D by about 3 weeks. I've still never seen those MFers yet though.

i did have about 15 people request tenacious d for hangout 2018. itcould all be coming together as planned. should be a new D album soon, theyve had it in the works for a while now.
I am looking at the A Perfect Circle tour dates and I just don't understand how they are not on this lineup. There is a perfect Voodoo sized hole from October 27 - 29...are they going to end up at Hulaween? I swear to god, how the fuck did Voodoo fuck this up?

There is an artist every year this happens with, but this would be the biggest screw up since they missed booking Rob Zombie (who had a very similar tour hole) for Halloween a few years back.
APC doesn't seem to fit the tone of Hulaween at all, it would be hilarious if Hula got them instead of Voodoo. But surely something has to be going on for them that weekend. I guess the optimist in me says it's possible Voodoo announces them as an addition later? It's just too perfect.
My whole crew would shit themselves if APC got added. I'm not even going to point out the tour date gap to them, no need to get hopes up.

That would be badass for Hulaween. We got the double dose of Maynard last year (plus I saw Tool two other times in January 16), but I still need to see them. Also, the last two years there was some slight overlap between the two (Lettuce in 15 and STS9 in 16). Maybe we'll get a jam act for one of the Sunday side stages? I'm sure Voodoo being 2.5 times the size of Hula gets dibs on announcements, but maybe there is a chance still? PPPP is playing Austin 27th and Houston the 28th. It's about 13ish hours from Houston to SOSMP but they might be at Hulaween or maybe at Voodoo or an aftershow since their next gig is the 31st in Atlanta.
Also, is it possible they're doing that Halloween Festival in Phoenix this year again? TOol headlined it last year and you'd think APC would have ties since that's where Maynard lives.

There are the couple in the 130's and then everything else starts in the 165 range. That's 28% return in 6 months (though obviously not on the big money). Prices will eventually be around $250 with fees, so you'll have to decide when is the right time to put them up if you aren't going to make it down.
As per Foo Fighter dates, they are playing Saturday.

I would really hope they pair up LCD with Kendrick on Friday, then have The Killers close out Sunday so I can drive home early.
LCD time/stage placement is the biggest mystery of my festival season. A day that includes LCD Soundsystem > Kendrick Lamar would be a great festival day.
As per Foo Fighter dates, they are playing Saturday.

I think Kendrick is going to be on Friday and that LCD is going to be at the Le Plur stage. I don't think that it matters that they aren't an EDM band. I think that is where they are going to be.
I would prefer not to miss Kendrick, but I know LCD is going to be a better show so this would be an easy choice for me.
Having said that I still disagree that LCD will be on Le Plur, simply because Le Plur is setup as a standard DJ festival stage (screen > DJ > decks > screen). An act like Die Antwoord works fine in this setup, but LCD have a lot of instrumentation and band members. It makes more sense to have them on the main stage or even one of the smaller stages.
How is Brand New live? If it was Brand New Heavies, I'd probably be more excited. This indie chick I used to work with was big into them. She was XMU and Alt Nation listener. I've only heard a couple of songs and they didn't do anything for me. But I wouldn't want to miss them if it's a good show. If it's an Inforoo-Indie Radio listening sing along, I don't really give much of a fuck about it. But if it's something musical that I ought to see, then I'll try to work it in my schedule.
