How is Brand New live? If it was Brand New Heavies, I'd probably be more excited. This indie chick I used to work with was big into them. She was XMU and Alt Nation listener. I've only heard a couple of songs and they didn't do anything for me. But I wouldn't want to miss them if it's a good show. If it's an Inforoo-Indie Radio listening sing along, I don't really give much of a fuck about it. But if it's something musical that I ought to see, then I'll try to work it in my schedule.
They are very good live. They are a rock band, I wouldn't say indie so much just in the aspect that they don't get radio play. They had one song that was played a bunch on the radio "Sowing Season."

This makes me wonder if they are actually putting LCD on Le Plur. Again, to me that would be crazy but they are lumping them in with the EDM artists here.
GA still $140 + fees ($169) LOA now at $400 + fees. Platinum now at $1,300 no add'l fees.
All three have a note that still says that ticket prices will go up. Stubhub has GA in the $130 range. 1 LOA is $395 and the rest are around $400 but slightly over. There are 8 Platinums starting at $2,250. I don't know who would pay that when you can get one for $1,300, but I guess at some point that could be a value. If so, I'm going for free.
I was looking at the list of crossover acts between ACL and Voodoo that interest or somewhat interest me. The 5 acts are:
The Killers The Head and the Heart Live Benjamin Booker The Black Angels
It's not that many, but I can probably knock a conflict or two out of Voodoo depending on how the ACL Scheduling goes. Excluding the crossovers above (and ones I'm not overly wild about like Mondo Cozmo or don't really care about like Superduperkyle), I have it as follows (* = already seen):
Voodoo Kendrick * Foo Fighters * LCD Soundsystem Dillon Francis * Brand New RL Grime * Prophets of Rage The Afghan Whigs Charles Bradley Vintage Trouble * G. Jones * Rich Chigga Chicano Batman Joyryde Black Pistol Fire Mannequin P*ssy Public Access TV
ACL Jay Z RHCP * Chance * Gorillaz The XX Ice Cube * RTJ * Portugal * Bonobo Live Cut Copy A$AP Ferg * Skepta Royal Blood * Danny Brown * Eagles of Death Metal * badbadnotgood * Mutemath * Vulfpeck * Thundercat * Big Wild *

I don't know that it means anything about stage. I'm sure if Deadmau5 was on the main stage, they would have included him in that tweet to cover the higher rated dance acts.

Eagles of death metal are weekend 2 only but if you come hit me up! Least you get thundercat/royal blood to make up for that.
Aw shit. My bad. I saw them at Galactic's mini-festival they had out by the Lakefront Airport back in 2015 which was pretty entertaining. Plan is to go Weekend 1 since that's what I have tickets for and when cmack is going and most of my ATX friends. If plans change and I swap out for 2, I'll definitely let you know.

Deadmau5 was also listed as one of the top 3 headliners. I am telling you, I really think that LCD will be on the Le Plur stage. That way they get a "headlining" spot at night. They are going to be like Die Antwoord closing out that stage.
Yeah, I mean like I listed out in the Voodoo thread yesterday, other than the 5 acts that cross that I'll pick and choose, the shows I want to see between Voodoo and ACL are almost entirely independent of one another. October is going to bring a lot of spectacular sets. I can't wait.
It's gonna hard to pry me from ACL>Voodoo>SoS>D4N fall run of fests. I keep wanting to go to Hulaween. Spring/summer time is when I feel more up to change. I'm saving up from Primavera and may go by myself if I can't rope anyone else in.

lizzo in dallas this week! very excited to see my girl again.
Yeah. Ideally I would like to see all of Foo Fighters and all of Kendrick. I'm willing to split LCD and Killers - probably would start at Killers if that was the conflict. But if LCD is on Altar Stage or either of the other 2, they will not conflict with any of the headliners. That would be ideal. I'm down with them, but I don't quite get all the hype. So I need to see them in person.
Just the same, Foo Fighters was killer at Glastonbury last weekend. And I think they're on either one or two of Volt, Roskilde or Rock Werchter this weekend - all of which are streaming in some capacity or other.

You can stick around for 1 Killers song and then bounce. They all sound exactly the same.

I think I'm bought in now, I believe LCD will be on Le Plur. And while it sucks that it probably means LCD will conflict with KFK, Le Plur is a great stage and loud as hell, so it should be an awesome show.
I'd like to see KFK again, I haven't seen him since the Bonnaroo set which was just pretty good. I'd like to see how he's grown as a live performer. But LCD is priority, I'm just a bigger fan of them.

Live for the next hour or so (started 5 minutes ago) is Benjamin Booker on Vuhaus. Link is below which will obviously expire after the show at some point. So far this is a bit less garagey than I've seen him in the past but that may be due to the setting.
He's leaving Voodoo to take a job in e-sports. I don't know what exactly Sig did with Voodoo but I used to love the little videos him and Butterbean would post of the grounds coming together in the weeks leading up to the festival (this was several years back).

That is huge. He used to do schematics, layout, getting sponsors and finalizing plans before the live nation take over. Then he was to work with live nation and C3 for layout design and once again sponsors. He was a big dog, I am sure that most of that stuff he just told others what to do. I am kind of sad, but glad at the same time because I haven't been getting my insider knowledge since the takeover and now I have a legit reason to not get insider information moving forward. LOL I mean before he left I could have made a phone call and have my friend hound Sig for information, if I was desperate enough.
The Thursday night pre-party Feast Under the Stars thing for $130 with wine pairings looks ridiculously bad ass. Chefs taking part are:
Aaron Sanchez (Chopped Kitchen, Johnny Sanchez Restaurants) Martha Wiggins (Sylvain) John Bel (Meauxbar) Nathan Richard (Cavan) Kyle Knall (Kentons in NOLA and Maysville in NYC

Seeing Brand New was probably one of the best live experiences I've ever had. But that's also because I'm a huge fan. If they play when the sun goes down it's definitely worth checking out. Their stage show is pretty badass and they are pretty intense live. If you're not familiar with them I recommend checking out the album The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me.

Cosign. They are not my all time fav but every time I see one of their live shows I wonder if they should be.
Prices for 3 day passes on Stubhub are now at the point where I'd lose money if I sold it. That's incredible considering how cheap a 3-day presale was.

That's why you should go instead of selling. Hit that $303 direct round-trip flight from United.
