Y'all are fucking crazy/naive and obviously have never been to Voodoo fest if you don't think that LCD will be on Le Plur at the same time that Kendrick is kicking it on the Alter stage. That is what is going down kiddos.

Theres a chance I may give up my GA which I assume is a bit cheaper than the current rate. Msg if youll take! Not 100% on board giving it up yet but might as well get some takers.
I would definitely buy a ticket if I knew for sure I could see LCD Soundsystem and Kendrick Lamar back to back on the same stage. But I'm guessing there's no way that would be logistically possible. Prophets of Rage > Kendrick Lamar seem cool though. Also Brand New > Foo Fighters on Saturday.

I don't know if VC is right or not. It's entirely possible that Galantis is against Kendrick which would be ridiculously ideal for me. Because in that case it would be Prophets of Rage, LCD on either Le Plur or one of the other two stages then Kendrick at 9:30. Maybe he does 2 hour sets? That's a top day for me if it falls right. Prophets already is the show I'm looking forward to the most this year since it was announced (fuck you haters). I've been looking forward to seeing LCD in person. And with free booze, I'll be whiskeyed out by that time of the day to see if I agree with people who swear by them live or if it's just somewhat entertaining. Kendrick will rule anyway. Friday could be Mack. Then again, C3 could fuck this shit up bad.

Yeah I'm not familiar with Voodoo's stages or how they typically schedule everything. I can't find much from previous years either. I imagine there's no way LCD plays before Kendrick on the main stage because they'd be scheduled too early and would have to be scheduled at least an hour and 30 minutes. Also the massive stage setup they both have. Could they close out a side stage right before Kendrick? I don't know what those stages are like so I'm not sure if that's a possibility. Everyone seems pretty convinced they'll play Le Plur. If that's the case I understand why they'd put LCD against the hip hop headliner. But honestly there would probably be less fan cross over if they were up against The Killers or something.
C3 took over the production side last year which is the good side of what they did. You have nonstop EDM on that stage but it's not much for me this year besides a couple of artists I plan on seeing. The main stage alternates with the two other stages now. Pusicfer and other major acts played on either or last year. Prior years are all different and can't be used as indicators even though it's been everything from face to face stages to having 8 going at once or whatever. Assume C3 will continue that schedule to negate sound bleed.
May end up grabbing a daypass and coming for Friday only. Never rly listened to Kendrick, and got pissed at Hangout 2012 or whatever when he was super late and had all these dipshits from the crowd on stage rapping instead.
Enough people who's opinions I trust say he's the man, so... LCD and Faux Rage could make a fun night.
or I could see Galactic in Mob for like $20. 1st world choices
FRI: George Porter Jr @ DBA Boyfriend @ Pres Hall @ midnight (?? This could be super awesome) Bigtymers Mannie Fresh/Birdman @ Maison Khruangbin @ Oej
and most importantly Big Church Night Out Tour - Lakefront Arena Newsboys, Sidewalk Prophets, 7eventh Time Down, Blanca, Derek Minor, Illusionist Brock Gill, Adam Agee of Audio Adrenaline, Jamison Strain, and host Jeremy Willet

Saw Kendrick this summer and this tour is out of this world. If you havent listened to him at all id start with "Alright", then go into Damn.
waoh nooo you have to go back further to start with Kendrick. Section 80 all day and go from there.
He doesnt play any Section 80 live anymore. I was more talking about to prep for this tour. I think Alright, and the video he did for it, is the best jumping off point for what his show looks like in 2017. Its just such a powerful song too

looks like the 2016 schedule was released Sep 29 last year, about two weeks after the dailies were released.
also it annoys me when I am googling for info about a prior year festival schedule and the top google results are for the dailies.
I'm holding out hope Friday will be Prophets of Rage > LCD > Kendrick. This easily works if Prophets play 7:15-8:30, LCD goes 8:30-9:30 or 8:15 to 9:30. That assumes that either there is a 15 minute overlap if LCD plays on Le Plur or they go a hour on a side stage. I'm not convinced they will be on Le Plur because of the massive amount of equipment they use. Le Plur mostly has a DJ Booth/Table and screens. I'm not sure they would have all LCD's equipment just sitting on the stage for all the other DJs and/or rappers (if any) that otherwise play before or after them.

So is it EDM?
This is what makes me hold out hope that LCD is not on Le Plur. Die Antwoord closed out Le Plur last year, and they aren't EDM either, but the EDM setup (dj booth/table/screens) works just fine for them. It doesn't work at all for LCD since they are a rock/dance act.
On the other hand if Voodoo is willing to find a way to keep all of LCD's shit up there on rollers or something, then roll it all in after Galantis finishes and move the DJ booth and all it's equipment... as I'm typing it it just sounds like a pain in the ass.
This is the most confused I've been about a prospective schedule in a while. Voodoo is usually more predictable with their scheduling. Anywho I'm thinking we have the schedule as early as next week, the following week at the latest. All will be revealed.
Maybe? C3 seems to like to wait until the last minute to give us schedules on other festivals though they were about a month early last year on Voodoo's (it was their first year with full process control). I'd think Galantis would be the more realistic closer on Le Plur that night even though they are booked behind LCD. Maybe it's just wishful thinking because I want to see LCD. If they go head to head with Prophets of Rage, I'll be 100% at Prophets of Rage. If they conflict with Kendrick, I'll mostly see Kendrick, but I'll make sure to at least go over to LCD at some point. I'd like to get a full or most of a full set in to be able to finally judge them for myself. If not, there will be another time.

I am not sure what you did to fuck up the quotes so bad 3post1jack1, but it tried to fuck up my quotes as well. I have seen full band setups on the Le Plur in the past, but it was the old setup so I am not sure if the stage is as large as it was before they rearranged the last time. They had all the equipment covered in the back and then just put the DJ setups in front of it. They then took off the drop clothes and pushed the setup a bit forward. I think that they have had plenty of time to figure out the solution to this problem.

When I trimmed down esteban's quote, i neglected to delete one of the open quote commands, so there were two open quote commands and only one close quote command. I just edited my post and fixed it.

Le Plur is enormous, they definitely have room for a full band setup if they so desire. And I still think the simplest answer is LCD plays Le Plur, but I don't want them to so badly that I'm performing mental gymnastics to convince myself that's not the case.
Nice. Old people and their lack of Facebook & Twitter <guilty>
Y'all coming to town this year christiandavid?
Either they are going to soften the Friday blow or pour gas on it. haha. Maybe they will throw me a bone for Sunday. I need another 1 or 2 acts to see or else I'm either going late or I'm going to go watch the Saints game in the free booze tent. Most of the stuff I want to see that day is no-name shit like Mannequin Pussy, Malik 95, Werd2Jah, maybe Amine'and Ron Gallo. Otherwise, it's G. Jones, Head & Heart and Dillon Francis. Maybe I'll give Cold War Kids a harder listen.

I'll be determining better after formulating a schedule. Been liking these lineups for a few years
