I decided to just go ahead and get the Baller tickets. Hopefully the price goes way up and I can reduce the outlay of mine down to like $600 or $650. That would rule. The question is whether or not the price for Platinum goes up or not. GA will, and with fees, I'm already > $100 on the two of those I have. I'd like to get the full outlay down to about $600 in which case they are paying me to attend.

As inforoo's personal accountant, I do not condone this risky plan to reduce the net cash outlay for the platinum ticket.
As just a dude, I'm glad you did what you wanted and am looking forward to your platinum experience review.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are running right through I-10 during VooDoo:
27th Friday in Austin 28th Saturday in Houston 29th - ??? 30th - ??? 31st - Tuesday in Atlanta
No NOLA Date. Has Voodoo everdone at non-fest billed after party? C3 booked Mutemath 2 years ago as a "ACL Aftershow" even though they didn't perform at all in the festival. Thatd be sweet as hell do cap a night off with them til 2am or whenever.
Last year there was a Voodoo-sponsored Here Come the Mummies/Peelander-Z aftershow, and neither band performed at the festival. I was not able to make it in time for any of Peelander-Z's set though. So there is a chance!

For sure. At the bottom of the ticket info for Platinum it says, "Note: Ticket prices will go up." That's good to hear. Also, I hit a small jackpot in the market today on some financials and was able to peel away some profit where 2 day appreciation of that item exceeded the cost of the 2 tickets. So if I can net +300 off the extra coupled with 100 on the 2 GAs which is a given, it's now $650. Key will be patience.

Why is Manchester Orchestra touring, not coming to NOLA and ending their tour before Voodoo Fest. This should have been an easy add to the lineup. Sad. Sad. Sad.
Top three are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, second line is usually pre-headliners but sometimes conflict depending on the stages.
good to see galantis where they should be placed on a lineup.
so i've never been to voodoo how does it shake out usually with the top 6 names? do they compete?
They will release by-days in September. The EDM stage (Le Plur) goes all the time. The main stage alternates with the other stages so that you don't get sound bleed but is the close out stage for the big headliners (9-11 or 9:30-11 on Friday Saturday and 7/7:30-9 Sunday). So there will be conflicts between whoever is closing the EDM stage vs. Main stage. Note though that placement on the poster isn't necessarily a guarantee that act will close the EDM stage. They could be in what would traditionally be considered the sub-headliner slot.
My guess for the Main Stage Closing Acts: Kendrick, Foo Fighters, The Killers
Guess for the EDM Stage Closing Acts: DJ Snake, Galantis, Dillon Francis. It think RL could swap with any of those 3 and close. Also, what happens with LCD Sounsystem? I'm not sure how big they are here, but they could also close or sub-close the EDM stage or be a sub-headliner at one of the smaller stages between the Main Stage sub-headliner and Closing act or they could be a sub-headliner on the Main Stage. There's usually an hour or so between Main Stage acts, so even if they aren't a natural opener for Kendrick, Foo Fighters or Killers, it wouldn't necessarily matter.
Also, you can get from stage to stage in 5 minutes or so. So there really isn't a worry about getting from A to B unless you're dealing with Kendrick or Foo Fighters and have a specific spot to watch in mind.

The fact that LCD was booked hours before the line up drop has me believe they will definitely be some sort of pre-headliner which kind of stinks but LCD > Killers would be wild.
as long as i can catch Kendrick, LCD, galantis, dillon, brand new, nghtmre, joyryde, & rl grime its money well spent.
It'll be money well spent anyway. But you're probably going to miss one or two of those acts or have to split. I could see Galantis or RL going up against LCD or Brand New. It's also possible that if LCD or Brand New is on the Main Stage, you won't conflict the #1 or #2 that day for the EDM stage.

Where did you see they got booked hours before the lineup drop? I missed that article.
From the article you posted. Reading it now, the booking was confirmed hours before. I guess we can read into that multiple ways.
"LCD Soundsystem has premiered several new songs in 2017, with a full album reportedly due later this year. The band's booking for the 2017 Voodoo was confirmed only hours before the schedule's release early Tuesday morning."
Id rather them get a full 60-90 minutes at night to coincide with thier production and massive disco ball.
I doubt they'd put LCD on Le Plur. Cue the "is LCD EDM?" argument last year.
They are a neo-post-punk rock/pop act, and I'm fairly confident they'll be on the main stage before one of the headliners.
I do hope RL Grime doesn't conflict with any of the headliners, except for The Killers. Would be bummed if I had to miss him again.
Fuck the rules. If I recall, it still got pretty dark with the pre-headliner (Cage) so that should play well with production and they got a decent amount of time to perform.
They are dance music though. I'll know more when I finish this book:

I totally agree LCD is dance music. But you know the Plur kids don't want to hear LCD.

True. Nor do I want em them around me during said dance music.

Yeah, I would be willing to split RL with Killers but not Kendrick and probably not much of Foo Fighters (though I would duck out for 15-20 to go over there during FF). As for LCD, I guess it depends on what they are scheduled for. If it's a 60 minute set, they could get the STS9/Ghost 8-9ish spot at one of the other stages. If they get 75 minutes, it's probably a pre-headliner set at the main stage.

I can't see them setting up the 100 pieces of equipment for a short 60 minute set....but for the right price? We'll see.
As in Head and the Heart and the Killers playing at the same time??? Man I really hope not....been wanting to see H&H for a good minute now, and absolutely love the Killers...damn good live show with TONS of energy...
No. In his scenario it's the between subheadliner and headliner set. If it works the way he posted and the way they did last year, South Course and Pepsi stages run concurrently and are not opposed by main (Ritual) stage. When those 2 are going Main is off and vice versa. That way there is no sound bleed on that end of the festival. The EDM goes full time but is now angled with the back of the stage to the rest of the festival so the majority of the sound travels toward the west and not back into the other stages.

Ok kids, pulled the trigger on an AirBnB so that means I'll see y'all there. Pretty pumped for LCD as I have never seen them. (I also just got Deer Tick tickets for the weekend following. This is gonna be a nice two weeks of tunes)
Also. I LIVE for costumes so extra pumped for this whole weekend.
