Honestly I think the top two lines are solid enough.
Knew the avalanches wouldn't be on here.
I'm hard pressed to understand what older U2 fan would remotely consider this festival.
Interested to see if this actually sells more tickets. If so, I don't understand the festival market. Wouldn't pay 250 for this lineup.
I posted in the headliner thread that the problem with last year was the oldness of the headliners vs. the newness of the undercard. They've pretty much doubled down on that approach
I would be shocked if U2 moves any 3-day passes; I could see them selling out the U2 day just for them depending on the price, but why the fuck would you bother booking U2 if you're going to book literally nothing else to appeal to U2 fans?
Seen a lot of people where it seems like theyre disregarding the lineup because it has a lot of EDM acts. EDM has a lot of different kind of music to offer and the shows are a hell of a time. Everyone has their own opinions but sometimes it feels as if because its EDM, its automatically garbage, which is pretty short-sighted.
You literally just copy/pasted someone's opinion from the bonnaroo subreddit. Are you Marshmello's/Dotcom's marketing team?
ok they're obviously going to have some kind of electronic tent. there's no way they're fitting all these guys in at night. maybe a thursday night dance party instead of a headliner?
Wow seems like I picked a good year to skip! I normally find between 18-22 artist that I want to see. I usually add 3-4 artist after delving in to the lineup. First count I see 12 artist I want to see. Headliners are good though

Saw marshmello in Knoxville and put on a hell of a show. Vibes harder than an Electronic artist out there. One of the most underrated as well
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Haywyre is pretty cool
Opening up a full LN on Thursday and starting things later the other days would actually be a decent idea for this lineup. Along with an EDM tent.

wouldn't be at all... there's some electronic on here that i'd actually like to hear late night too... but there's not enough fucking guitar for me. i'm looking for dream pop/ psyche rock, metal... there's literally nothing. becides the groups i know like deap valley, CSR and orwells? there isn't shit on here
and as far as future islands goes, as much as i love that dude, i don't want to hear him doing his cookie monster impression in the middle of songs late night. sounded like shit at wayhome
i'm waiting to find out this was a bullshit mock and i just spent all night finding bands on a fake. wouldnt' be too mad though. i've found a few.

dude that's what makes Future Islands awesome
i really dig his voice though.. and when i'm on fungus its no fun
Ive been wanting to make a push to Roo, and with all the other line ups seeming decent but not jaw dropping, I had hope this would reel me in. Til next year.
Don't think it's going to get any better than this from here on out.
This definitely plays into my decision about whether to go. The lineup had to be better than last year for me to make the investment and it did that. What this lineup also did was prove to me that Bonnaroo has reached it's peak and is heading down. There is enough for me to have as much fun as I did in 2015, but I fully expect this to be my last Bonnaroo. I'll enjoy my weekend. It's not the reason I'm going this year but it will make me appreciate the time at the festival a little more.
So I just checked out Chance's setlists from this tour. Seems like he pretty much got rid of "Chain Smoker" in the set, which means he now doesn't play my two favorite songs of his, which is a bit of a bummer. I guess he needed to make room for basically all of Coloring Book...

Without looking up the artists I don't know, I would be interested in: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chance The Rapper, Future Islands, Superjam (probably), Michael Kiwanuka, Gallant, D.R.A.M, Fancis and The Lights, BADBADNOTGOOD, Noname, Klangstof, and Kevin Abstract. Lines 2-4 do nothing for me, this is considerably worse than last year IMO.
Yeah the more I look at this the less good it gets. It's that spot between Cage and Marshmello where there should be about 10 more artists. Someone on Reddit pointed out that he's 9th on his day at Coachella, and 12th on the entire Roo lineup.
Tove Lo is 18th OVERALL at Bonnaroo and 18th ON HER DAY at Coachella if we're pointing out weird billing comparisons
ok if it helps anyone, here are the bands i know that i'd see.
U2 (meh), Chance, Major Lazer (maybe), Flume, the XX, Big Gigantic, Glass Animals, Futlre Islands, Crystal Castles, Portugal, Cold War Kids, Royal Blood, Car Seat Headrest, BADBADNOTGOOD (maybe), Deap Vally and Orwells.
the bands that i haven't heard of or listend to before today that i'd go see are: Michael Kiwanuka, Gallant, James Vincent Mcmorrow, Greensky Bluegrass (maybe) , Kevin Marby, Rainbow Kitten Surprise (maybe) No Name, Albin LeeMeldau, Angelique Kidjo, Hippo Campus, Ten Fe, Stick Figure, Turkuaz, Lucy Dacus, Klangstof, Kevin Abstract (maybe), Khruangin, Twin Limb, Big Jesus. stopped here. i'm tired. i think there were 2 lines under this.
the electronic(ish) stuff i found i liked were Claude VonStroke, G Jones, Goldfish, Rezz, Haywyre, unlike pluto (maybe) and Barklay Crenshaw.
so i guess if you agree with the list of people i know and plan on going to roo, maybe check out the rest of my list? there's some good stuff down there. were this a festival close to home, i'd go to this. they did a good job with the bottom of the list. hell, i really liked the last few bands i put on there before the electronic stuff. but i'm not going to TN for that money and for a bunch of undercards that would open for a 15 dollar headliner in brooklyn
Big Jesus is actually fucking awesome. i let it ride after i wrote this
