That is literally the only thing I know about Jacksonville. I had a friend from there and every single time Lynard Skynard came on that is what she would tell me, so now I pass that knowledge along.
Other musicians from Jacksonville include Butch Trucks, Derek Trucks, Vic Chesnutt, and Fred Durst.
Gainesville is like a small redneck town that decided to be a hipster/punk/liberal mecca. It's pretty great and shouldn't be off anyones list for best cities in the state.

It is one of the better cities, but it is quite far off from being the best.

Spanish food?
Yeah, everything from Cuban restaurants in Tampa to tons of stuff in Miami. Edit: just realized I was describing Hispanic food specifically, but South Florida has a ton of great Spanish cuisine.
One week visit to the beach and then get the fug out. That's how I view Florida.
Edit: Theme Parks are cool.
I usually go for two weeks because my mom lives there. It isn't so bad where she lives and I love my mom. But we go to Busch Gardens every time I visit. I love roller coasters!

What city does she live in?
Springhill. It is right by Weeki Wachee and Bucaneer Bay. The drive there sucks, because you have to take hwy 19...over 4 hours of hell.

I complain a lot about Florida, but I will miss year-round short sleeves when I leave. I get grumpy when it hits 40 degrees at night for two weeks out of the entire year.

So for everyone who (foolishly) bought presale, how's the lineup research going? I've discovered a few gems so far:
-Travis Scott, who I had a passing familiarity with because of his stuff with other rappers. His new album is great. Not sure how it will translate live because of its reliance on guests though. Will probably be a wild show but not necessarily good musically
-The Front Bottoms--this really surprised me, because I thought I knew who they were (and that they were really bad) but I absolutely love their newest album, Back on Top. Pop punk/emo revival, kind of reminds me of a cross between Blink-182's self-titled and Say Anything's ...Is A Real Boy (one of my all-time favorite albums). I'm gonna check out the rest of their catalog and this will be a must-see most likely
-Amine - apparently this dude had a hit song called "Caroline" recently? I hadn't heard it til now. Checked out his 2015 tape Calling Brio and dug it. Singing rap in the vein of Chance and Anderson Paak (though not as good). The album had a lot of different styles, the sound of a young act trying to figure out what works. Production was on point, almost half of it was produced by Kaytranada. This show could go either way
-Claude VonStroke - I love house like this. That said, I don't get excited for dj sets so this would be an act I catch if there's nothing else
-Twiddle - silly jam that's exactly the kind of stuff that I like just sitting down in the field and listening to
-Innanet James - looks like he doesn't have much out yet but this is another solid rapper, seems like a guy that could be a lot bigger in a year or two. His Quebec Place EP is great
-Michael Kiwanuka - this apparently wasn't new to me because I already had his 2012 album Home Again in my library. I like it a lot. Very old school sounding soul, reminds me of Otis Redding. Dunno if his new one is like this, but this should be a great show
I also checked out Marshmello's Joytime and Illenium's Ashes and both were ultra generic shit EDM
Claude Khraungbin Anjelique Kidjo Barclay Crenshaw D.R.A.M. Alexandra Savior Flatbush Zombies Turkuaz Klangstof Kiwanuka Deap Vally Big Jesus
Those are the ones I didn't know or barely knew when the lineup dropped that I'm hoping don't get conflicted out. Been getting more into BBNG, Cold War Kids, Tegan and Sara, CSH as well. Trying with Future Islands, but it's a process.

In my opinion Kiwanuka's new album is even better than his old. Bolder, more confident, more diverse sound.

thejeremy and I were talking about that yesterday. You might put on a heavy jacket here 4 times a year. But man I get salty when I have to. I couldn't live somewhere that actually gets cold. It was cold last night, we're back in the 70s today.

Fuck your hot weather! I live roughly 300 miles south of where I grew up, but the summer's are more brutal here. I mostly like the lack of snow (not that we usually got a lot in Washington, DC), but sometimes I miss it. We can run the gamut of a whole year's worth of weather in a span of two to three days sometimes though, which keeps things interestin'.
The craft beer scene in Florida is actually really great, if that's your thing. Some of the best beer in the country comes from here. And if you're into craft, you know this is for a fact.

Michigan, California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Wisconsin .... in what world is Florida even top 10?

You could even count all of New England as one state and Florida still wouldn't be cracking top 10. You'd have New York, Pennsylvania and Texas rounding things out

Lol. I'm big into craft beer (from Wisconsin) and Florida isn't even on the radar.
