We are attaching an open air amphitheater to the stadium. He came by to announce the first wave of diverse acts to the city:
Dave & Tim
Zach Brown Band
Chicago & Doobie Brothers
Foreigner
Goo Goo Dolls
Bryan Adams
Train & OAR
Ted Trucks Band
Dierks Bently
Third Eye Blind
311
Kidz Bop
Can these guys stop ruining my life? The Jags are enough to deal with.
I can't even tell if you're being serious because holy shit that is a terrible list of artists.
How is this surprising? Most LN sheds have the same 15-20 shows every summer. The same 4 country acts and usually a smattering of classic rock and the occasional Blink/Green Day/Weezer tour.

It really is depressing how pervasive LN's influence is for how much they suck
One of the best venues in town just sold out to Live Nation and while they still get good acts, they've really made the venue worse. Way tighter security who treat everyone like shit, constantly kicking people out, and they've jacked up drink prices and switched from a focus on craft beers to Miller/Bud/Coors
Also, a local promoter has been working to open up a 2500 capacity theater in town and of course this live nation venue is the only place lobbying against it. All the other places have supported it because bringing more big acts to a city can only be a good thing
They pitched this amphitheater as a step in the direction of making Jacksonville relevant. Live Nation has other ideas.
Never been to Jacksonville, but it always seemed like a corporate sell-out embodied as a city.
I recently attended a Phish show in Jacksonville, and learned that Jacksonville is the largest city by landmass in the United States, encompassing over 840 square miles. Fun fact.

Lynard Skynard is from Jacksonville.
That is literally the only thing I know about Jacksonville. I had a friend from there and every single time Lynard Skynard came on that is what she would tell me, so now I pass that knowledge along.

Other musicians from Jacksonville include Butch Trucks, Derek Trucks, Vic Chesnutt, and Fred Durst.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
