Foo Fighters - Queen and Adam Lambert - Gorillaz - Future - Lana Del Ray
Actually was saying Queen with Adam Lambert would be pretty cool, just to hear some queen on the farm. Would that be a headliner though or more along the lines of our legacy (lionel richie) act

I can't see Queen as anything but a headliner, even with Lambert in place of Mercury. They're one of the great live acts of all time. No one is going to want to follow Bohemian Rhapsody.
Well i am all for that line up. IF they grabbed that with a good undercard i'd be pretty damn happy. The good undercard part is what i'd be afraid of though
They headlined a different festival over seas. I don't expect them to be booked though. Mostly because I haven't ever heard of their tour coming through my hometown. It's possible they're tours just didn't go through STL but I just think people don't care nearly as much without Freddie Mercury
Is there a chance we're drastically overstating this "young people weren't into U2" thing?
haven't been on inforoo in a couple months so i just saw this. I skipped again this year but my girlfriend and a lot of friends that went (21-25 year olds) were all blown away by U2. They weren't fans at all beforehand, but she kept raving about them when she got back saying it was probably her favorite set.

I'm seeing Queen and AL August 2nd. I'll report back my impressions. Full disclosure- I'm a raging Queen fan so my expectations(very high) are Brian May will shred, Roger Taylor and his son with kill it on drums, Lambert will let his inner Freddie out without trying to be Freddie. John Deacon will be missed but not a deal breaker.

I think LN Which would be the right play with them. If U2 wasn't able to fill the field, as people have asserted, then Queen w Lambert cannot. They can fill Which and with a LN spot it can still be sold as a respectable slot.
What if Bonnaroo stops having legacy acts all together? They're certainly not aiming for an older audience anymore. We also haven't had any legacy acts in the undercard for the past two years. I feel like this would be the next step.

this is what i've been saying. or at best your "legacy" act is Foo Fighters or something.

Yup Foo Fighters was exactly what I was thinking. Or Jay Z could be the "legacy" act too.

There is no freaking way that Queen would be on Which.
No one can be everywhere in the What field to see how U2 did or did not fill it. I will say the pit line for that show was literally something like four times as long as I've ever seen it. I couldn't tell where the end of the line was to get in it. It just went on forever. Regardless, if U2 can't fill that field, no one can.

I just think that if it's realistically one of the last times you could probably get Fleetwood or Waters why not attempt to and then start making FF or Jay-Z a legacy act the following year?

I definitely think they would go for them. But if they can't land either of them, which is also a good chance, then why bother booking a much less exciting legacy act just so that part of the lineup is checked off.
