There is no freaking way that Queen would be on Which.
No one can be everywhere in the What field to see how U2 did or did not fill it. I will say the pit line for that show was literally something like four times as long as I've ever seen it. I couldn't tell where the end of the line was to get in it. It just went on forever. Regardless, if U2 can't fill that field, no one can.
I just think that if it's realistically one of the last times you could probably get Fleetwood or Waters why not attempt to and then start making FF or Jay-Z a legacy act the following year?
I definitely think they would go for them. But if they can't land either of them, which is also a good chance, then why bother booking a much less exciting legacy act just so that part of the lineup is checked off.

RHCP and Chance filled it more tho
Do you have drone footage of the crowd? It's a really big field, and it's totally possible that you were just in a dense area.
I think you guys are severely underestimating how many people my age listen to oldies. I think roo should definitely try and keep getting legacy acts.
It's not about what the smart thing to do is; it's about what the Bonnaroo thing to do is.
Exactly. Bonnaroo has been moving in a one step forward, two steps backwards direction. You gotta think about what Bonnaroo hasn't taken away yet. I can easily see legacy acts being the next thing that goes away.

First of all, it's Queen with Adam Lambert. It's not really Queen. (And I paid to see them with Paul Rogers in the past. I'm a fan.) I doubt that their per show attendance in the US is larger than Nine Inch Nails and they were on Which.
Second of all, the ability to not tell where the end of the line was is more of an indictment about the ridiculous inability of Bonnaroovians to form a rational pit line than it is of an act's popularity. The U2 line was similar to the ones for most major headliners. (And I got in line behind their lighting rig.)
Whoever went to all three shows can tell you that. Not many people on here went this year, but reddit would also agree.
I was at all three shows but I was in the pit for U2 so I can't judge that. RHCP looked significantly more crowded than Chance, however. Then again, Lorde and The Weeknd looked comparable to Chance, too.

Well I was at all three shows and I can confirm there were indeed a lot of people. Definitely more than LCD Soundsystem. That's all I can confirm for sure.
Hard to judge obviously but from what I felt while there: Chance > Chili Peppers > The Weeknd> U2. U2 wasn't super empty or anything, but RHCP and Chance were def noticeably more crowded.
Hard for me to judge because I wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure The Strumbellas had the biggest crowd, with Chance the Chili Pepper coming in close behind. I'm not even sure if U2 played or not.
What sets were weirdly unattended? Kevin Morby was empty and Skepta was pretty lowly attended.
Margo Price was depressingly under attended.
I wondered about that, I heard her cover of Kristofferson from camp and wished I'd have went. But I'm not gonna lie idk how some of y'all do it I can't make it at the which middle of the day

I don't know if I'd call it weirdly underattended or just a symptom of the audience the current version of Bonnaroo draws, but Angelique Kidjo put on the best set of the weekend to half a tent.

I'm so mad about how Skepta was scheduled. Pretty much everyone chose to see Flatbush Zombies instead. That was one of the dumbest conflicts Bonnaroo has ever had.

Warpaint, Kidjo, and Skepta all had small crowds, but none of those were very surprising. I was expecting more people at the James Vincent McMorrow show. I guess I thought he was bigger.

It actually filled in well as it went on, especially for a show with so few wubs.
