Does Drake still lip sync? I remember watching videos from his performances in 2015 and he literally did nothing on stage except walk around and pretend to rap and sing.

i've never understood the hate for drake, each albums big pop single is usually pretty meh but other than that i dont see why he gets so much hate around here.

I don't consider any 4th name artists to be headliners. I see the argument for Kendrick since deadmau5 was headlining LN that year and that was a unique situation, but for instance I do not consider Chance to be a headliner last year, just a strong pre-HL.

You are thinking about this all wrong:
Inforoo by default hates everything. To not be hated, the subject has to earn the right to simply be disliked by this most elite group of individuals.

On paper, I feel like Chance was a #4 headliner. But his show was (in my opinion) definitely not Bonnaroo-headliner caliber.
I see Kendrick as the reverse: A subheadliner on paper that performed like a headliner.

You’re doing great. Everyone loves a whiner.
lol, I'm not whining at all - sorry if it comes across that way. I am enjoying inforoo more in the past couple weeks than ever ... there's a lot of good insight/knowledge on here sandwiched between the sarcasm and 4chanerisms.

Why are you still here?
EDIT: I guess you just answered that. But still...

Is it a secret that there's a very pessimistic/mean tone to this message board? I feel like that's pretty obvious. I've come to enjoy the board a lot more now that I can more effectively identify when someone is channeling their inner 4chan and when someone is being genuine.
I suppose I'm just more willing to point it out when relevant? Regardless, I don't mean to come across as complaining in any way - Drake's just a good example of an artist who is going to get some default hate on here because of the board's culture.

you're right but honestly it's more just this thread than anything, we're all just having fun though
Everyone likes to poo poo on Drake and his 2015 festival performances but I think it would be fitting if Bonnaroo's 3 year late booking strategy worked in their favor for once. Maybe he actually steps up his production and seizes the moment?

What the heck are you talking about? How frequently do you post in other threads?

Bonnaroo just shared a video about Little Cinema, having never seen anything from them before I think it looks pretty awesome and although nothing will replace actual late night sets, I'm pretty excited to check out the new barns they've been talking about. Hopefully this is all in addition to a better LN versus instead of, but I guess time will tell.

My takeaway from this is that it's an add-on, not a late night takeaway. I think if they were going to downgrade late night substantially, it'd be more effective to make the announcement of the change all at once. Trying to sneak in a major downgrade a week before tickets go on sale is a great way to lose goodwill with just about everyone.
The concept of having 'plazas' or hangout spots at each pod makes a lot of sense, especially for pods further away from Centeroo. This seems like a fantastic gathering/hangout solution for those who don't go over and beyond on their camp.
At the end of the day though, I think the real reason for this change is to market the camping component of the festival to a younger generations.

Especially agree with this last part. I've been trying to get my girlfriend to go for the past 2 years and the idea of straight camping and showers not being overly conveniently located has kept her far away from the idea, but I showed her the email they sent out with all the new upgrades and she said that it sounded fun and has her interested to actually camp now.

It's not like they'd ever announce anything about downgrading late night sets, but they could pretty easily just put out a schedule that only has one tent going each night instead of both. I don't think that's going to happen, and these added things do seem like they could be legitimately great, but I'm wary about getting my hopes up at this point.
I could be very down for the Tonalism thing, though. From their description it sounds like a perfect way to wind down a night

Honestly, they try to sneak at least one thing by without comment virtually every year.
One year it was banning Tent Only unless you walked to the festival or took the airport shuttle.
Another year it was banning factory sealed water bottles.
They combined the comedy and movie venues without comment last year, removing one whole source of shade and AC.
A few years ago they did away with the Sonic Stage experience.
They banned tapers in the last year or two.
And those are just example that come immediately to mind.
My point is, they make these changes and wait to see if anybody notices.
Sometimes they do and we raise enough of a fuss that they back off (Tent Only, bottled water), usually we just have to deal.
Don't overestimate how transparent they are as a festival.

They've already downgraded the late nights significantly. You barely had two options each night past 2am and nothing past 3am. I don't think you could downgrade it anymore and still call it "late night". I could see them adding more activities as an excuse to keep things this way. Bonnaroo has consistently been making these one step forward, two step backward moves.
