At this point I'm just hoping this year fails massively so they cancel future Bonnaroos and I don't have to see something I love being destroyed so thoroughly
I'm so happy for Portugal. The Man finally getting a late night. I saw them on Saturday and they were fucking amazing! Their show will show will translate very well on the farm late night. But the rest of those late night acts? woof.
This ended up exactly how I thought and I'm completely okay with it. Claude, Big G, and PTM Friday- should be able to see 2/3. Saturday Superjam and I'm assuming Sphongle is Saturday too. Would have liked to see Future Islands get a late night set but I can still work with that. I'd check out Flume too but I just imagine that crowd being unbearable.

I'm kind of in the same boat...hoping Claude and PTM go back to back and Flume and Superjam on Saturday is fine with me. I prefer watching full sets so I've never been one to bounce around, 2 solid options is fine with me.

Besides the lineup, this is the most offensive announcement yet. The good: I'm not a PtM fan but it's good to see them get a late night. Claude Von Stroke will be fun, and it's cool to see him not end up in an afternoon slot.
But the rest of that list is rough. Hope for the best for the Superjam but I'm assuming it will be garbage.
It's not like the lineup is exactly bursting at the seams with bands that would be awesome late night, but there could have been some interesting choices: Future Islands, Royal Blood, Car Seat Headrest, Badbadnotgood, and Greensky Bluegrass. Of course Umphreys but that's been talked to death already.

Royal Blood, BBNG, and Greensky are all Sunday so we all saw that coming. But yeah, Future Islands, Kidjo, Klangstof, Chance as a LN What.. There was a lot of stuff they could have done and didn't.

You guys just haven't fully re-calibrated your Roodar yet. I was actually expecting worse. Happily surprised with CVS, Big G, and PTM, because I legitimately thought Getter, Ngtmre, and Tove Lo were real possibilities. And Shpongle is almost guaranteed to be on Saturday which helps some with those conflicts.

I'm pleased. We got PtM late night which was my biggest concern. Not too chuffed with the rest of the acts, but I'm sure we'll work it out to have fun.

Kind of hoping this happens, I have zero desire to Chance. I'll take FI closing a tent with a small crowd.
I love how they included Thursday acts (which they never do) to make the late nights seem less empty. So a whopping FIVE acts per night, only one act per stage and two on the Other Stage each night. I mean who's easy for RUSS LATE NIGHT!? This is no better than Okeechobee or Firefly's late night options. Remember 2014 when there were two acts on every stage and the music went till 4am?
But complaints about Bonnaroo's downward spiral aside, Portugal. The Man, Big Gigantic, and Claude should be fun on Friday. Shpongle should be pretty great on Saturday too. So at least I have something to enjoy each night.

Agreed. With only 5 acts there's no way in hell Which is going to have 2 acts. If he's lucky PTM will start an hour after Flume instead of starting at the same time.
