Not sure where the Bjork rumors are coming from, but FYF Fest did have the guts last year to promote Grace Jones as a headliner. It seems reasonable they'd pull off another booking like that for 2017.

Bjork is a headliner, they're not taking any risks by booking her.
Missy Elliott, Bjork, A Tribe Called Quest, Frank Ocean, NIN, Solange, Erykah Badu, Iggy Pop, Run the Jewels, Flying Lotus, MGMT, Blonde Redhead performing Misery Is a Butterfly, King Krule, Little Dragon, Slowdive, Hannibal Buress, Anderson .Paak, Angel Olsen, Nicolas Jaar, The Drums, Kehlani, 6lack, Thundercat.

so
Nine Inch Nails - Frank Ocean - Bjork - A Tribe Called Quest Missy Elliot - Solange - MGMT - Flying Lotus - Run The Jewels Erika Badu - Anderson Paak. - The Drums - King Krule
i dont have the money at all but i think i might take out a loan to make this happen
Pretty similar to Panorama. Way better though. Missy + Bjork blows Tame + Alt J out of the water. Little weird since Panorama has a bigger capacity.
I would rather see Missy and Bjork but I feel like Tame and Alt J would sell better.
I don't know about that. Tame has played the NYC area almost 6 times since Currents and won't have new material or a new show by July... Everybody loves Missy Elliot and shes not an act that plays very often. Out of those 4, I think Missy is the biggest draw.
Interested to see the billing for this. Would not be shocked if she is at 1 for her day. I suspect overall she is right below NIN.

But her music is not that appropriate for festivals anymore... Govball was a flop.
That aside, excepting Missy Elliott (who has a shitty live reputation), this lineup is excellent.
NIN just confirmed themselves, as well as their 2017 lineup... Reznor, Robin Finck, Ilan Rubin, Alessandro Cortini, and Atticus Ross...interesting that there's no live bass player this tour. I know Alessandro had played some bass (1-2 songs) on previous tours but it will be interesting to see if this signals a more electronic version of the band this tour.

A flop like underattended? I feel like for a fest that skews towards the eclectic in the middle of a humongous population hub she's perfect.
Yes, underattended with more and more people leaving as the set progressed. And those that did attend/stay were predominantly interested in hearing themselves talk over the music.
You're right that she's a better fit for this festival, but I still think it's a risk given the heaviness of Vulnicura and her recent reliance on an orchestra for strings.

The 2014 lineup was the same sans Atticus Ross, and they managed to play all their big tracks that year. Ilan Rubin did bass at times (such as on Sanctified) which was sick.

Its crazy when people talk during shows. It happened with a Hiss Golden Messenger show I was at. By the end of the show he captivated everybody into silence but the beginning was awful. He even made a comment about it before his last song. I was amazed at how shitty the crowd was
In past years, they've announced the lineup on KCRW's morning show around 11 AM PST. Not sure if that's still happening since usually they've said the night before they are going on the show.

I've started to confront people about it. Politely at first, of course, but have been getting better at being harsh when necessary. If more people did this, we'd all have better live music experiences.

Same thing happened when I saw Bon Iver in Brooklyn a few months back.

thats something i would expect at coachella (dreading the NMH---> fan Situation), not a Bon Iver show.

That sucks, man. I've noted that it's more common when people only know a few (big) songs, and/or if it's a hip act where the incentive is just to have been there (and to show off on social media).

The venue was small enough that people were able to shame each other into shutting up. I really can't imagine seeing a show like that at a festival where ppl have been partying all day... But I am trying to make it up to Boston Calling so I guess I'll find out.
