What has he been doing with SMU? I haven't been keeping up. He's not a name that has come up. After Dooley and Jones, I feel like there is going to be a lot of pressure on Currie to make a very serious run at a flashy name, i.e. Kelly. I don't think Morris fits that.
Their only loss so far is against TCU. He's definitely improved their program pretty fast. I've heard the name throen around and also Justin Fuente.
I like Morris a lot, don't know that he is a fit at UT.

Chip Kelly will be interesting to watch. He seems like the kind of guy that would piss off the big money people at Tennessee (or any SEC school). Are Tennessee boosters hungry enough to win that they don't care if they can't get a proper audience with the head coach? Reading about his time with the Eagles and why they fired him...I think serious fans should be able to prioritize winning, but a surprising number of people would sacrifice wins in order to have their ego stroked. I guess maybe that's not so surprising after I read it out loud.
I read an article the other day about how that was how the big donors needed to look at this. They can a) keep the purse strings tight and their personal power high and take a chance on an up and coming coach or b) put down a bunch of money and let go of some personal power and get a big name coach. The article likened it to what Alabama did with Saban. They gave what (at the time) was a massive contract for a coach and gave him a lot of freedom. As we all know, it turned out pretty well for them.
I really like Scott Frost as an up-and-comer. He was Osborne's QB when Nebraska won it in 97, the WR's coach under Kelly and OC under Helfrich at UO. His UCF team looks great so far this year. They're one of 3 teams in the top 10 in both scoring offense and scoring defense this year (Alabama and Washington). And they absolutely dominated a Memphis team that beat Josh Rosen and UCLA. I wish he had more HC experience cuz I think he will be a hot commodity in a couple years. I dunno how welcome he would be in Knoxville either for embarassing the Vols in the Orange bowl.

Better be known for embarassing the Vols in the Orange Bowl than known for losing to Dooley at your previous job. I agree that Scott Frost is a name I would be interested in seeing more talk about. The problem I could see aside from age and experience is, regardless of the fact that he inherited a dumpster fire at UCF, people would still knock him being 6-7 last year.

Jones' answers are really getting on my nerves
Any changes on the offensive side? “I think it goes back to winning details. Right now we are -4 in turnover margin and that’s something we typically pride ourselves on. Only three teams in the nation have a negative turnover margin and have a winning record and we are one of them.”
For some reason today was pick on Tennessee day on the Clemson sports radio. I enjoyed it. The best part was how we have Tenn's future qb and 2 wr's sitting on our bench. You can't allow that to happen. Butch has to go.

What?
Hunter Johnson and Tee Higgins both committed to Tennessee, then de-committed and went to Clemson. Then I'd also imagine he's talking about Amari Rodgers, who had tons of visits to TN but ended up signing with Clemson.

As someone who went to the same high school Higgins did, I can assure you nobody good from that high school ever goes to ever goes to Tennessee. It's a really odd phenomenon considering it's right outside of Knoxville.
Auburn or Florida. Georgia came very close to losing to Notre Dame already, so I can't sign off on them going 12-0. They're an impressive team but not unbeatable. As much as they kicked the crap out of Tennessee, Fromm was still only 7-15 with 84 yards.

The game with Auburn is going to be a war. I think Uga has a little more offense.
what about Joe Moorehead? Y'all have a thing for PSU coordinators.
The only thing a sizable contingent of people in Knoxville have for Bob Shoop right now is a baseball bat to put upside his head.
at first I was sad to see Shoop go because his defense was the only shining light through the dark years of the sanctions, but now I don't miss him at all.

I wonder how Moorehead would do without the best player in college football as his RB. Based on the interest he got from G5 schools last year, I wouldn't be surprised if Moorehead moved on.

I'm fully prepared to see him go, he's following the standard track of FCS coach > P5 coordinator > G5 coach, then he'll ultimately end up somewhere in P5 as a HC.
But Barkley is the best player in college football.
I've only watched parts of Penn State games this year, and caught some Barkley highlights. But Bryce love looks amazing. He can do smash mouth power running or agile outside speed sweeps.
Plus he already has 1000+ yards on the season with fewer touches than Barkley. Stanford is just sorta meh this year though.

Barkley is heavily involved in our passing game as well, he has 27 catches for 386/2. He also has kickoff return TD and a passing TD. He's had a couple "Heisman Moments" with the hurdle against Iowa and the KR TD against Indiana, but you don't win the Heisman in September. He's gotta show up big against OSU and Mich.
