Missed this, but the other week Massive Attack got booked for a fest in Hong Kong (Clockenflap, what a name) that's mid Nov. I could see them filling out a few dates around that and ending a run at DfN.
Zimmer in town this weekend, stoked, who's taking the Glass/Carp role if he's out?
Jóhann Jóhannsson please
Only date is 9/30, both Blade Runner and Mother will be out by then so he shouldn't be tied up with those. Steve Reich was in town in March, so I'd imagine he's out.
Have you seen them live? I was super underwhelmed with their set at Movement Detroit this year. Just seemed rushed. I'd love to see them at a headlining show outside of a festival.
D4N is fucking up. Metz and Gary Numan are playing separate shows in Houston the weekend of the festival.
How are they fucking up Numan? That's Friday, and if they follow last year, sneak peak. It looks coincidental based on the tour schedule, but there will be enough freaks in town that I'm sure will be drawn to the show along with native H's. I don't think anyone can say they are fucking something up if the tour was already coming through. Just the same, I've seen him. It was alright. But give me some fucking Eno if we are going to reach for the heights.
They fucked up because the tour dates for those two acts indicate they could've been booked for the festival but weren't for one reason or another. They are both pretty great fits for the fest.

And I hear you. But for Numan, his dates look sort of coincidental. I can't imagine he's in any way out of budget or isn't an act they'd like to have. But I think he was in Austin on Saturday and may just have worked out like that. It would be nice to see him at the festival, but most of the mid and undercard was slotted weird last year sometimes with 40 minute sets. While I'm sure admission will be 30-35 for that show, the value may be in getting an extended set at a venue. JMO
Wish I had gone to TommorrowWorld the first year. Bunch of friends were stage crew and built that monstrosity, they said it was the best production they've ever seen by far.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I'm trying to think of all the semi realistic possibilities for headliners. Its difficult to to gauge whats realistic after Aphex Twin.
Sigur Ros Nine Inch Nails Massive Attack Bjork (live set) Frank Ocean Bon Iver (maybe not the best fit and they probably wouldn't want to compete with their mexico fest) Phoenix (again probably not the best fit but could work)
