I might feel a wild hair and go catch Bjarki at that time too.
andy stott v bjarki for the 40 minutes before jamie is probably the set I'll know the least about going into, from what I've heard I'd go Stott, but zero idea what either are like live.

i can't believe i'd actually consider skipping NIN, but Roni Size > Bjarki > Andy Stott > Jamie XX would be a great run of shows.
i'll wait and see how the new location of the yellow stage is before i make any decisions. if it's loud and the floor is comfortable I might be spending a lot of time there next weekend.

Probably best to bounce around at that point. I imagine Bjarki will be pretty high energy so there's that.

I feel like a jerk saying that but in this case I feel like it's kinda okay since Thom is a legend. But music is up to the listener. What I need help with is NIN or Tyler???
haha, all good. i am a radiohead fan, and understand seeing Thom solo is reasonably rare, but I just don't know any of his solo stuff, so it's not a big draw for me.
on NIN vs. Tyler. for me NIN is the easy choice, and they have decades of experience putting on pretty amazing audio/visual spectacles, but I've seen Tyler live and it's a pretty fun show. Whose music are you more emotionally connected to?
I had the chance to see Tyler in 2016 Roo but instead got in the LCD pit. Ended up being one of my favorite shows of all time. I would hate to miss Tyler again after he put out ANOTHER album that I love. Right now I'm definitely more connected and know more of Tyler's music but I would feel crappy missing such a legend of an act like NIN. That's how I felt about LCD so I went to see them and fell in love with them. It'll probably end up being a decision that day.
Also Pussy Riot or GAS? They are both very interesting and the atmosphere GAS creates is spectacular.

I've seen Stott a handful of times and always enjoy it. It will be pulsating. I don't know Bjarki, but from the one clip I checked on YouTube, the sound is not very different from Stott, minus the playful vocal sample thrown in.

that Tyler show was fun, I was like 3 people away from being in the LCD pit before they cut me off, but Tyler was one of the better sets that weekend for me and I still ended up rail adjacent for LCD. But with it starting the same time as Nails I'm not going to even bother, despite Flower Boy being one of my faves this year.
I vaguely remember catching OFWGKTA in 2011. It was mostly just about climbing the scaffolding of the stage, which was fine in the moment but didn't do much for music memories' sake.
Y'all are starting your days off all wrong! Who doesn't go to the early shows, no one even put Deep Cuts or Faten Kanaan on their schedules. Also who the FUCK goes to see Nina instead of Thom? Im sorry that is just not okay
The actual travesty is the lack of Laurie Anderson on people's schedules though I understand some people dig James Blake. I've only liked his production work and don't really like much of the music I've listened to by him. Then again, she's my Top 1 going into the festival, so I plan on trying to get rail for that along with all the other old people who can kiss my ass for stepping on their lawns.

I would have liked to have caught her. I've never seen James and he was one of my faves on this lineup.

I know, I personally love James Blake and have been following him since his first album came out. Saw him live back in 2015 at Roo (right?) and he was amazing. His voice is too good! But I was hoping to catch Laurie but James is gonna have my full attention, hopefully from the front since at Bonnaroo they changed the freaking tent he was at last minute.

yeah it's more about missing James, I missed his show here to see Slayer last year, and Laurie Anderson is no Slayer.
