idk that I've ever heard the Eraser B sides before but they're great. I wonder what his splits going to be for the set. All three solos are just over 2 hrs, the b sides ~40 min, but I doubt he try's to do any particular album all the way through. maybe boxes because it's the shortest by a few minutes.
i dont remember a slope but fwiw theres a chance it straightened itself out or became worse post flood.
maybe it's steeper in my memory than it actually was but I remember it being fairly significant. not significant enough to hurt your ankles standing on it but enough to really enhance sight lines from anywhere.

is there anyway you could go out there this evening so we have the slope information sooner? thanks.
The stage set-up now definitely gives them a full fluid L-shape backstage area for the crews to work with. R.I.P. to wandering in the back alley shipping dock area next to the train tracks for the Yellow Stage. I'll miss it and the skyline view at Red the most.
Maybe they were forced to flip sides on Red due to sound bleed complaints from resident behind the post office. If they have the sound pointing towards the city it wouldnt hit that many residents. Still fucking sucks.
I really thought using the 2nd floor as a club space would have been a good move, but maybe logistically that wasn't possible?
I don't think they want that many people on the 2nd floor at one time, which makes sense considering the limited exits. If there was any kind of emergency up there, it would be an absolute disaster getting everyone out of there.
he's touring a live set this year to go along with his new album. he wasn't last year. It's pretty simple.
Yes you're pretty simple. Easily impressed apparently. I apologize but there's nothing you can say to make me feel differently. I basically drove 15 hours to this festival for three people: Oneohtrix Point Never, Clams Casino and Arca. OPN destroyed it, Clams Casino was excellent and then I remember being front row for Arca praying that he would play mostly his studio work and he didn't play one song. Obviously I know you're not gonna get every song you want when you see somebody live but you expect them to at least play some of their studio work. Musicians change their live stuff depending on the crowd, which I respect but also hate. Sorry, maybe I need to start lowering my expectations and standards and then I'll be impressed by everything like you are. Everybody else here was actually cool and helpful and tried to answer my questions but you and Phyre Fest have to be massive pricks for whatever reason. I'm sorry I ever asked, now fuck off.
I just noticed they revised the allowed items on the website. Now it states Camelbaks with a single compartment only are allowed. I have a Camelbak with 2 or 3 compartments but it definitely falls within the 21x10x14 size limit. Do you think this would be a problem at all?
From the D4N website:
What should I bring?
WINTER-FRIENDLY ITEMS such as a hoodie, jacket, scarf, gloves, beanies, etc. BAGS that include small bags, single compartment backpacks, and purses not larger 21″ x 10″ x 14″ CAMELBAKS with a single pocket only and empty when entering ONE (1) CLEAR PLASTIC WATER BOTTLE per person not larger than one liter (1L) that is empty when entering PERSONAL CAMERAS with no detachable lenses CASH (SMALL BILLS) AND CREDIT CARDS. Cash will be accepted for food, drinks, and memorabilia, and in some locations credit cards will be accepted as well. There is no need to purchase food/drink tickets first. ATMs will be available throughout the festival grounds as well. EAR PROTECTION for young children is highly recommended

I was worried they would become more strict on their guidelines. Disappointing.

Yeah, I'm probably just being overly paranoid about it. Can't really see them turning people away over having an extra compartment or two. Unless it's the size of Santa's bag or something.

If it ends up pouring rain, at least I could have a good fest completely indoors if I had to. Only forecast I looked at is showing 50% chance on Saturday and 20% on Sunday.

Check out the Nine Inch Nails live show! Don't know if any of you have seen this but their show is phenomenal and the light show is insane! Look at the light show for Copy Of A, its very simple but effective. Love it!

I was at this set, and barring any major conflict so should you. Great, great stuff

This will be my second time missing Tyler for another artist if I go to NIN, but I know I wouldn't regret going to either show (except that I missed the other but that happens). NIN is more of a 'show' so to speak.

I think this is roughly my schedule:
Deep Cuts -> Of Montreal -> Perfume Genius -> Lil B -> GAS -> Pretty Lights -> James Blake -> NIN (or Tyler) -> Andy Stott -> Jamie XX
Shabazz Palaces -> Kimbra -> Art Installations -> Phantogram -> Solange -> Justice -> Tim Hecker -> Thom Yorke
I may change out or add some thing while I'm there like Marcus Marr, Ryoji Ikeda, Godspeed You!, (I hate having to miss Mount Kimbie and Shlohmo), Forest Swords, (have to miss Laurie Anderson )
houston is particularly unpredictable. it was 80 degrees monday, snowed yesterday, and then was like a nice fall day today.
Yeah. It’s still too far out but trends in the last 2 US Generated model runs are less chances of rain until Monday. If that continues next few runs, it’s probably going to mean warmer and dryer. Fingers crossed on that. Also a promoter we know said he has the hookup for VIP and Friday passes so plans may have changed.
