The Knife seems more realistic than Aphex ever did.
Disagree. We don't even know what the knife are doing yet.
Disagree with your disagreement. We didn't know what Aphex was doing either. I honestly have no thoughts on this besides Day For Night has the prestige to bring in those kinds of acts at this point.
They are really god awful live. Pretty sure they'll make the rounds soon and disappoint everyone.
both the original euro version of the shaking the habitual show and the reworked us version were great.
All I know is I saw them play Terminal 5 between Coachella weekends a few years back. It was like watching paint dry. I was really looking forward to the show too. Up there as one of the biggest disappointments I have ever experienced in going to shows.

I've listened to a bit of them and I can't see how they'd be anymore exciting than the likes of Sylvan Esso.
Aphex was essentially the rarest US booking this decade I assume? I can't see how they could follow up w that level w another singular artist.
Daft Punk.
So they've been booked somewhere?
Edit: If that's referring to the 2nd sentence, I should have added "realistic" to singular artists since we know DP won't be performing anytime soon. Or will they...

Yeah they kind of screwed over everybody else with that one, which made it a rare booking. They overpaid like crazy, so now Aphex's management is sticking to that number; and nobody else wants to pay it, so everyone is pretty much holding out hope they reconsider and come down a bit.

Was there ever a count in regards to actual attendance? It's hard to tell how many ppl attended this thing and I have no clue how much it costs to produce an event like that. Was it cheaper because it was an abandoned govt building as opposed to a public park? I assume D4N did good enough since we, at this point, have a 3rd year coming. It is concerning there hasn't been a peep though.

That was referring to the second sentence. I think that's the only way they can top Aphex Twin booking.

Yeah I can't think of anyone else that would top that...

only thing i really remember seeing was 75% were from out of Houston.
D4N is still active on facebook which is nice. Eh, I need to fest soon.
Hypothetical. If D4N or any fest books DP, how many people would you expect for attendance? I assume people would be willing to shell out $200 alone and fly out from around the world to see them at this point.

I read something a while back that said 20k, but I think that was counting each day individually. 10k per day seems more accurate.

it was easy to get close to the main stage for each set I saw, same for the green, the blue was a little more difficult, but some of that seemed to be people getting in from the cold/area being smaller. the lines for the exhibits seemed like they went on forever though.

While listening to that track
When Daft Punk comes around they will tour everywhere. Way too much money on the table.

It was hard to get by the Odessa crowd. I would have guessed 15-20k per day, but Saturday was way more packed than Sunday. Of course it was fucking cold as shit too.

The exhibits were way more crowded. So much bottlenecking. It was like that scene in Animal House where the marching band gets stuck in an alleyway.
It really wasn't that tough to get close for Kendrick or New Order. YMMV. They've changed the stage names, so I don't know which stages you mean, but the one inside a long skinny shed was the only kinda tricky one.
