it was easy to get close to the main stage for each set I saw, same for the green (Travis Scott and RTJ mightve been packed for all i know though), the blue (indoors, Bjork, Arca, tycho, more club-esque) was a little more difficult, but some of that seemed to be people getting in from the cold/area being smaller. the lines for the exhibits seemed like they went on forever though.
The exhibits were way more crowded. So much bottlenecking. It was like that scene in Animal House where the marching band gets stuck in an alleyway.
It really wasn't that tough to get close for Kendrick or New Order. YMMV. They've changed the stage names, so I don't know which stages you mean, but the one inside a long skinny shed was the only kinda tricky one.
at this point im assuming they're keeping it at the Post office until I hear otherwise. but i wouldnt mind the blue stage being re positioned to have a wider viewing area, also kind of long and skinny.
and yeah thinking back, its hard to try to guess the numbers because I'm sure Travis pulled a big crowd and i wasn't anywhere near that.
The stages were Red, Green, Blue and Yellow at the Barbara Jordan Post Office. The Red Stage was the main stage facing away from the skyscrapers, so you had that as an additional backdrop behind the stage. This stage featured most of the headliners and bigger acts. The Green Stage was all the way over on the SW side of the Post Office campus(?) and also featured almost the rest of the bigger acts (RTJ, Buttholes, Travis Scott, etc.). The Blue Stage was inside of the basement/ground floor of the building. That was more of a DJ stage and was the one that went late every night (Arca, Soulection and Sophie) although S U R V I V E and Tycho played in there. The Yellow Stage was behind the building and inaccessible for the most part unless you walked all the way around. That was a really small but industrial stage that was behind the building and between that and some train tracks. There were mostly smaller acts over there. Upstairs in the building on the second floor were many more art installations. Also on the ground floor was the installation section for Bjork Digital which luckily all 6 of us got to see and thought it was the best thing at the festival. Even with the headphones though, there was still bleed from the Blue Stage with the thumping and bass coming out of that.
I don't really care who they bring, because most of it is likely to be new to me anyway. I just want Hundred Waters since I haven't seen them in 3 years.
Aphex was essentially the rarest US booking this decade I assume? I can't see how they could follow up w that level w another singular artist.
Yeah they kind of screwed over everybody else with that one, which made it a rare booking. They overpaid like crazy, so now Aphex's management is sticking to that number; and nobody else wants to pay it, so everyone is pretty much holding out hope they reconsider and come down a bit.

I was only bringing up Boards of Canada because they are an extremely rare act I'd love to see.. They are more likely than not, never playing anywhere ever again.
