Question though, based on my knowledge of EDM and the stage layout for MIA, both Kaskade and Marshmello are way too large of names to be preforming on the Freedom Stage (quite a small area). I would personally think they would be the two names that headline the Liberty Stage and they would consider double headlining The Chainsmokers on one of the days on the Rocky Stage. Thoughts?

my little brother and his friends, who are freshman in HS, all bought presale and are pissed bc even they hate the lineup, and i really expected them to like it.

Can you follow up with a good Ole fashioned...
"Why?"
Is Marshmello already old news???.*waves cane in disbelief*

I imagine Kaskade and Marshmello are the Liberty headliners and the Chainsmokers sub main.
R3hab and Cash Cash will probably headline the EDM stage.

"J. Cole is overrated" "fuck the chainsmokers" "why is 21 savage so high" "who even is marshmello" "migos will be fun though"
In 2017, college kids don't care about Jay z. To them he's just Beyonce's husband that cheated on her.
Also he's overrated.
Nah I know a lot of college kids that listen to Jay. He still gets a ton of radio play on all the hip hop/pop stations (in the north east anyway). All the kids know are the hits though (Empire State of Mind, Run this Town, 99 Problems, Ni**gas in Paris, ect) he is on that RHCP classic level to them.

As a 27 year old still very high on EDM this lineup works for me. Very small price to see Jay-Z and some top DJ's. Most of the bands I was interested in seeing are playing at the Jones Beach concert venue close to where I live anyway.

I feel like if one of those top three EDM names was replaced with some Inforoo approved act like Justice, opinions on this lineup would be very different. For what it is, it's not terrible, although a new album from JCole would help freshen up the top of the card.

J. Cole was sooooooo boring at MIA 2015. Luckily there were a couple of bros near us that almost got into a fight and then did a conciliatory bro-hug where they continued to stare each other down. More entertaining than what was happening on stage.

Bumbershoot is typically like that these days. Ok not judging. But I go to the Gorge for DMB instead. That's how I loath Bumbershoot at the crowded Seattle Center.
Hit: Jay-Z, Migos, Solange, RTJ, Sampha, Pusha T, Vic Mensa, DMX, Marian Hill, Lizzo, Kelela, Francis & the Lights, Rapsody, Beach Slang (who do not fit in with almost anything else on this lineup)
Miss: J. Cole Chainsmokers, Kaskade, Marshmello, 21 Savage, Cash Cash, R3hab, DJ Mustard (by himself???), Getter, Broods
the only grey area thing (of all the artists I know anything about) is Little Dragon
