I think it's a mess. You cannot have an album with 20 songs on it. I don't care how long it's been since you last released something. There are some good jams, but it sounds like he put this together pretty quickly. Doesn't have the production value that the earlier stuff did. Also, a good number of features don't really sound like they belong. Still hoping to catch them live, but this is kind of a stinker. I think it would be a lot better if he just cut the track number down.

In fairness 7 out of 20 tracks are interludes, so it is really only 13 songs. But I agree they could have even cut that number down. Def some great jams on there that I am very stoked to hear live.

I got to 20 by not including the interludes. It's 26 with them.

Ah I see. I was listening to the Deluxe edition. 26 tracks on that, 7 are interludes.

Wow I put it to have both a digital copy and a psychical copy of the album since I got two tickets the Merriweather show. I did that yesterday. The album just arrived via UPS a few minutes ago. That was pretty cool.
This does seem disjointed at times and sone songs are complete misses for me. Charger felt like one of the aforementioned songs where the collaborate just felt off which sucks since it featured Grace Jones.
But I think this how I felt w all Gorillaz albums. They're very weird, eccentric, atypical. Some songs will stick and others just aren't in tune to that person.
