I had zero plans to go to this, but now my wife and I are seriously discussing it. What a wow-inspiring lineup. I don't really know much Jawbreaker either, but the rest of the lineup is stacked as far as my tastes are concerned.

Jawbreaker's stock got bigger after they broke up in 96. They got snached up in the major label cash grab (post Nirvana), put out an album that was so different it was considered career suicide by many.
This is a big deal, guys. Big deal like The Replacements big. Adam had said they were rehearsing last year but nothing ever materialized. I'm glad it did. Even if they don't play another show, a few people will get to witness or re-witness the glory of Blake & Co.
If you're looking where to start, I said in another thread: 24 Hour Revenge Therapy > Bivouac > Dear You > Unfun
Dear You is the most accessible but 24HRT and Bivouac are so damn fun.
No shame in saying it's a big reunion that's appropriate as a headliner for this fest, but not quite as big as what they've pulled out in other years.
I can get on board with this. I'm a fanboy that logged in many many hours and miles with this band when they were a thing. My perception is just a bit skewed.
I just want to hear them do Sea Foam Green live. Fingers crossed they don't pull a Misfits and make this their only date.
"A representative for Riot Fest clarified to Pitchfork that the reunion is a one-off exclusive, and currently, no further tour dates or appearances have been planned."

Some Interpol dates added for NYC and LA on Sept 23 and 30. They are in Europe until Sept 9 though. Them playing TOTBL in full makes me think they could be an addition. Which would be reeeeally awesome

I'm holding off buying tickets till the Voodoo lineup drops (coming from Austin). What's the venue like? I've never been to a Riot Fest... is it truly janky rock drunkenness bullshit or just similar to other festivals? What's the vibe? I mean, I had a blast at the Big Four which I expected to be a bunch of metalheads and turned out super cool.
In Bloom Festival 3/18-3/19 Houston, Texas Rock Werchter Festival 7/5-7/8 - Werchter, Belgium Mad Cool Festival 7/12-7/14 - Madrid, Spain Austin City Limits 10/5-10/7 - Austin, Texas

The festival is held in a park on the south west side of the city, and easily accessible via the CTA. It's a nice open space, and people are generally very cool.
Logistically, I thought this was the best run festival I went to last year. I never waited in line to get in, for the bathroom, for beer/food, etc. If this lineup is for you, I think you will have a blast.

absolutely agree. I have never had a problem with the people/crowds at riot. everyone is super chill. the area the park is in is not great (pretty awful actually) but i have never once felt unsafe. they do a great job.
