Anyone interested to attempt a mock schedule? Of the artists I checked into X lists Friday the 15th with shows in other cities Sat. & Sun. M.I.A.'s website lists Sunday the 17th and we know the headliners assigned days from the main poster (NIN-Fri. QotSA-Sat. Jb-Sun.) Additionally Prophets of Rage, Wu-Tage Clan and Dinosaur Jr. list Friday the 15th though those may merely be placeholders.
Making a mock will be hard because it seems like this year is going to be different. The total number of bands on the final lineup last year was north of 120, and this year is high 80s. So either A - they are still adding more bands; B - they are getting rid of at LEAST two stages; C - they are getting rid of one stage and completely changing their scheduling paradigm.

This fest is always impossible to bill anyway. Other than the headliners and subs, anything is possible here time wise.
Obviously it's a total crap shoot, but this makes sense to me. Due to the reduced number of bands, I got rid of one stage, and staggered set times more to have a little less overlap (no more than three bands at a time.) Thoughts?

This is pretty good.
Danzig has never not closed a stage while performing at this fest, I don't expect that to change. I'd swap him out with TBS or Gogol.
I tried to ignore any conflicts for myself and just schedule what made the most sense, but as it turns out, the only brutal conflict for me in that is Jawbreaker vs. TV on the Radio.

I don't think any of the headliners will be scheduled to play longer than 75 minutes. Other than that, not bad! ATDI vs Bad Brains would be pretty rough on me, personally

Prophets of rage vs. Built to Spill breaks my heart. Along with Best Coast vs Gwar.
NIN for an hr and 15 would suck but it's better than nothing. I feel like their production is going to be scaled down for Riot Fest unfortunately. Interested to see what their set up is for FYF and Panorama.

I think we will see a set time similar to what Morrissey was scheduled for (even though he went on late) last year. I will be surprised if NIN get a 75 minute set. It seems like a waste of a good headliner if that is the case.
Just booked myself at Holiday Inn Express in Oak Brook for little under $100/night. 15 miles away but a very straight drive to festival site. Speaking of which how is parking availability in the area anyone who went last year?

I drove every day last year. If you get there around opening you'll be fine, there is plenty of free parking around the park. Jusr don't park away from the festival, there will also be plenty of people trying to sell you a spot in a random lot, don't do that either.
People who have been before - how would you describe the crowd? We went to RF Toronto in 2015 and it was one of, if not the best festival crowd of which I've been a part. Average age was significantly higher than most other national festivals. I'm wondering if that was just what that specific line up brought, or if that's how RF tends to be.

Yes the crowds are very similar. Since it's in late summer, there are far less college/hs kids in attendance. Everyone is either in a jean jacket with their favorite band shirt or in a t-shirt with some ironic saying/pic and seem to genuinely be there for the music rather than to be "seen." It was a breath of fresh air after my first Lolla and partially restored my faith in humanity.
