Jamiroquai (and possibly Jay Kay) may have demanded to close a stage.
Yeah.. But the Mojave? For the first time in such a long time a US performance and they let him close.. the Mojave? All respect for REZZ and Alison Wonderland, but they've litteraly been at every other EDM fest over the past 2 years?
They made a lot of weird scheduling decisions but putting Jamiroquai in the mojave wasn't one of them.
My biggest issue with Beyonce's set times are that Highly Suspect and X Japan will likely end at 12:15, meaning the ONLY show on from 12:15 - 1 will be Beyonce. Eminem will at least have Do Lab, Gobi, and Yuma going on for his entire set.
I definitely want to see some of her set, but I'm not a big enough fan of her music that I want to see the entire thing. Not to mention, I'll be a mile away from the stage where I feel it's significantly harder to enjoy a set with the kind of production hers will have.
We'll see. I think it'll be an awesome show. But I also think it's pretty lame that the options are see Bey or go home.
I really can't believe they won't add someone in the Yuma or Do Lab during Beyonce. Maybe they will weekend 2?
Didnt everyone on here champion the fact that Coachella opposes their headliners with quality acts?
This is the first year I don't want to fake be there in awhile.
Do Lab set times show it'll be done by 11 (when Beyonce starts). Yuma could theoretically conflict, but the Black Madonna tweeted how excited she was to see Beyonce, so odds are she won't bleed much into her, if at all.
Part of the appeal of Coachella is all the options at every point in time. I totally understand no artists wanting to compete with Beyonce, but from an attendant's standpoint, it sucks.
Being that in this case her set overlaps Post Malone, alt-j, Jungle, Tom Misch, and Hundred Waters ya should be fine. Black Madonna has been everywhere the last couple of years anyways so maybe that will detour folks as well.

Who should I see: Angel Olsen, Priests, or Yaeji? I've never seen any of them live.
I've seen Angel a few times and she's great. I haven't seen Priests but I really want to.
I feel like I have heard hit and miss things about Priests. I enjoyed them when I saw them. It was at a super small venue and some of Katie's family was in the audience, so it may not be the best mark for them. I want to say garageland saw them and wasn't overly impressed.

I love Angel so this conflict hurt my heart, but go with Priests. One, they're a great, really tight live band that should be blasting through their LP material now given this is kind of a one-off late cycle show. Two, I am trying to give "tie goes to the Sonora" whenever possible this weekend to continue supporting booking more bands like Priests.

They’ve ran about 50/50 every time I’ve seen them. Festival sets usually aren’t that great. It’s early, it’s hot, yadda yadda and they lack in that situation. If I were going, I’d still be at the set but be more excited for that Priests/Angel Olsen Pappy + Harriet show.
This lineup is still stronger than basically every other US festival; however, that schedule made it painfully obvious to me how this year is to past years. That being said, there are a couple of good runs in there. Going St. Vincent > Soulwax > Jamiroquai would probably be my favorite stretch of the weekend.

I disagree with this. The schedule heightened my appreciation for this lineup. Especially with the Sonora getting stretch a bit Saturday and the run of rare acts Friday, it still looks like a pretty special year when I thought it was a pretty weak year most of the last couple months.
Just Saturday alone I could probably make a three day fest and see a different show I loved each time. Acts Like Fleet Foxes, Angel Olsen, X Japan, etc. that would probably be in my top 10 in most - if not all - U.S. fests this year are getting written off to conflicts - and thats on one day.
As far as Coachella's go this schedule has moved me less than any previous year. Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything. Still jealous of all you seeing Soulwax. Just feel like I'd have more downtime than usual this year. That said this is 2018 after all.
