"Supposedly." Are you actually this ignorant about something you're trying to argue about, or are you playing dumb for fun? Who gives a shit about 2013 when we have apples to apples comparisons from 2017?
RH sold out every show on their spring tour within minutes or hours of going on sale. Same with the 2016 fall tour. DM tickets have been on sale for FIVE WEEKS, and they're still available at 95%+ of the dates they're playing. Their 2 NYC shows at MSG still have lots of tickets avail and that's the easiest market in the world to sell out. Toronto not sold out. Chicago not sold out. Vancouver not sold out. ALMOST EVERY OTHER FUCKING CITY ON THE DM TOUR has not sold out.
It takes an IQ of about 22 to go to the Depeche Mode ticketmaster page and click around for a few minutes to see the proof with your own eyes. If you're not capable of doing that and have to pretend that 3 Bowl dates are the rule rather than a clear exception, then maybe don't go making retarded proclamations that are easily disproven.
Chill dude. Not going to waste my time posting on responses like that.
You didn't "waste your time" looking at readily available information underlying the basis of your argument either, so color me shocked.
How many shows have Depeche Mode played in the States since 2013? A lot! How many shows have Radiohead played in the States since 2013? Not a lot!
It's not a surprise, as snoke pointed out, that Radiohead tickets are going quickly and Depeche Mode's aren't because one chooses to limit their performances and one doesn't. That's my point. I'm not refuting the fact that you can by a ticket to a show in St. Paul or Denver like you are claiming.
Both acts are #1s at festivals. Both are very popular. All I'm saying is that due to the rarity of DM playing U.S. festivals, the ardent supporters in SoCal, Radiohead headlining a slew of fests in '16, it would be a bigger deal IN MY OPINION for Coachella 2018 to book DM than Radiohead for Coachella 2017. The fact that you can buy tickets in Detroit for a DM show doesn't change my opinion. I'm sorry if you disagree, I'm just stating why I believe this.
I mean, if an artist limits their supply of shows which would make them coming to the festival a bigger deal, thats more important for booking than who is more "popular" no? For example, Paul McCartney is more popular than Led Zeppelin, but if Desert Trip booked Led Zeppelin for 2017 it would be a much much much bigger deal than booking Macca right?

Obviously if Zeppelin reunited it would be a bigger deal, but that's like saying the Beatles headlining would be a bigger deal than Macca.
Depeche Mode is not in that caliber of acts though.

Fascinating. I'm a millennial so maybe that's why, but Depeche Mode has no name recognition to me. I wasn't even a big Radiohead fan until late college, but I could still casually recognize songs off of the Bends, OK Computer, and Kid A before that.
This. Radiohead are a band who's legacy has extended their reach into subsequent generations. As someone who travels in a circle of people with pretty decent music taste, I don't know if I've ever heard Depeche Mode even mentioned. I'm sure there are people under 30 who are fans, but Radiohead has significantly more sway

Speaking of Depeche Mode, they added a 4th Hollywood Bowl show this morning. Don't think it would / wouldn't have any impact on potentially playing Coachella, especially given these are LiveNation shows.
It's amazing how all the dumdums who used to keep themselves confined to the threads for shitty festivals like Bonnaroo and Hangout have migrated here, thus completely shitting up this thread as well.

We just want Coachella to finally book Mumford & Sons for a sweet ass headlining set, is that so wrong????
He plays in LA at an underground show in about a month. I like Hot Chip, would you recommend me checking him out that night? What does he play? House/techno?

Extended Stay America next to Palm Springs Airport is 566 for 4 nights Thur-Mon with no deposit and free cancellation. Went ahead and snagged it just in case.

Just looked, but not seeing the no prepay and free cancellation option? Edit: nevermind, got it. Are you doing April 14-16? May have to go WK2 next year if my gf's schedule is super busy.

I would catch him for sure. Probably will play heavy on the LP, but he mixes in throwback house and disco as well.
