If you can see an outdoor Pappy & Harriet's show, do it! I caught Jamie xx and John Hopkins there in 2015, and it was amazing! (bring a jacket, though - it gets ridiculously cold after dark)

Just got tickets to see Unknown Mortal Orchestra there, and it's an outdoor show. Pretty excited!
I also didn't know they did "outdoor" P&H shows, but looks like Little Dragon, Future Islands, and Glass Animals all played outdoor shows last year.
The glass animals show at pappy and harriet's last year was fantastic. The outdoor part is really intimate too. Its just a really cool atmosphere there.

I've decided this festival isn't worth traveling across the country for. If you or anyone you know is looking for tickets for weekend 2, I'm selling two tickets plus shuttle pass for face value. Send me a DM.

I'm interested in one ticket if you're not set on selling it all together.

I know it's still a couple months out, but this might be the strongest that Coachella tickets have ever held on the secondary pricing market.W W1 GA passes are starting at $600 on Stubhub, with W2 at $470. Taking a look at some other fests for comparison:
All prices from Stubhub. Based off last year most fests seem to be maintaining their value. I know prices drop considerably in the days before but I don't think at any point last year you couldn't find a ticket for Roo or Gov Ball under $300.

I won't speak for other fests (e.g. I know nothing about the Gov Ball aftermarket), but Coachella is typically strong until mid-March when they mail out the passes, then it takes a step-function price drop and holds steady til 7-10 days before, then it typically drops a bit more.
Nothing I've seen leads me to believe otherwise than that it will be about the same as other years - probably a ~10-20% premium for Weekend One and passes for about face (maybe slightly below if you're lucky) for Weekend 2. I think the last 3 years have pretty much been that way since the elevated pricing of 2014 and the sell-off of 2013.
As much as people here don't love the top six, it still has Beyonce's only shows for... how long? ... two mega selling artists as other headliners, probably this year's hottest rising star (SZA), and a big electronic name (ODESZA). If it's not selling, there are some pretty big festival structural issues.

In 14 tickets were like $1000 on stubhub
Man, remember after the lineup came out in 14 and Alex Young was out there saying OutKast shouldn’t even be a headliner?

Nope, 2014 Coachella was the first festival I saw the lineup and said “I need to go to this”. I remember begging and begging my parents to let me go but they wouldn’t. I started getting hardcore into fests just before Lolla 15. I believe I joined the board early 16

Something is going on with capacity though. It’s insane that camping passes are still available this long after tickets sold out. Must have something to do with expanding the grounds?
Maybe it’s just cause everything sucks this year and Coachella is still the quintessential brand. I’m sure plenty of people are still on board cause it’s simply the best option atm.

Which year was it when he complained about the fest not having a female headliner, as if Coachella was the sole American festival that had yet to book a female headliner? Good times.

That's pretty much where I am. Based on pretty much every previous year ever, Coachella usually wins with my favorite American fest lineup. While Beyoncé is the only headliner I'll likely see, the fact that I can see great electronic acts like Yaeji, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Talaboman, Omar-S, Detroit Love with one of the best potential b2bs yet, etc., plus awesome, unique shit like Benjamin Clementine, Chic and Nile Rodgers, Jamiroquai, Soulwax, X Japan, etc. is great and beats pretty much all other offerings for me. Do I prefer many of the Euro fest lineups? Sure. But, if I'm going hauling my ass all the way to Europe, I'm making a comprehensive trip out of it. And since I've already got a multi-week Thailand/Hong Kong/New York trip planned, there's not a lot of flexibility there. Maybe one year.

I wonder if more people are doing air bnb/ hotels now. I know camping is usually the cheapest option but if more people are coming from places more than a driving distance a hotel/air bnb is probably better than trying to get camping gear/car rental.

Definitely going to try to get tickets for Soulwax and the second Fleet Foxes show. The Pappy & Harriet's shows look cool too but it's a far drive for a weekday.

I wonder how quickly it will sell out. And it's not that expensive IMO.
