People with bitch about this schedule but you're still getting 3 unopposed headliner sets from U2, RHCP, and The Weeknd. What other fests are still doing unopposed headliner sets?

Thursday: Hippo Campus > Twiddle > ???? > The Lemon Twigs > ??? > Kevin Abstract > ???
Friday: Klangstof > Khruangbin > Kevin Morby > CSH > 3 hours of nothing > Gallant > Glass Animals > U2 > PTM
Saturday: Big Jesus > Lukas Nelson > 3 hours of nothing > Michael Kiwanuka > Chance > RHCP > SJ
Sunday: White Reaper > Margo Price > Umphreys > Skepta > BBNG > The Weeknd
I could make decent days out of Friday and Sunday. Thursday and Saturday are fucking awful. Two sets I would actually be excited about on Thursday and 2 or 3 depending on the SJ on Saturday.

Not exactly a good thing when two of them are RHCP and The Weeknd.
Obviously they're not your taste, but both of them are in midst of completely sold-out North American tours so they must have some level of popularity.

If you are excited to see them, what difference does it make if they're opposed or not?

The lineup actually looks a little better to me after the schedule. Future Islands -> Chance The Rapper on the What, Angélique Kidjo -> Gallant -> Pres Hall Friday night, BADBADNOTGOOD and Kevin Abstract closing tents. I'm sure I would enjoy the Superjam and all the headliners too. I'm a little jealous of everyone going right now.

I'm trying to remain hopeful that there will be at least one surprise set on The Other Stage after Marshmello and Big G. It would be a huge slap in the face for all the Roo veterans who are used to partying until the sun's up and I think it would be the straw that breaks the camel's back for a lot of people who have been on the fence about coming back to the farm. I'm coming this year for sure but if they actually close centeroo down at 3:00 this year I'll be way less inclined to come back next year.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Thanks for doing this! Makes me want to look into a couple of those Thursday bands a little closer.
In your imagination, you should go to Angelique Kidjo's Remain in Light during that downtime on Friday.

As terrible as this sounds, I still plan to party until sunrise via Silent Disco, the Xmas Barn, and random stages in the campgrounds.

Only real problem is U2 only getting 1 1/2 hours. Everything else is very manageable for me so I'm very content with this. Chance v Future Islands was the big concern.
In this board, popular = good. There's no point in going out of your way to book acts that only a few people like, remember that.
oh yeah, keep forgetting about that.
For real though it's weird. Seems like some people are determined to judge festivals from the point of view of the seller and not the consumer. Like I don't really care how well the fest sells if it's shitty, but they usually defend it based on popularity and ticket sales.

Don't miss the Lemon Twigs, they're super bad ass in the weirdest way.
You should all definitely make it in for Klangstof as well, they were pretty great at Coachella.

Giving people no choice but to watch an act they might not necessarily like, how awesome!
So much bullshit in this thread. Either you were going to Bonnaroo or you weren't. If you were, this schedule crushes.
when there aren't many good options, easy to have a conflict free schedule. otherwise, I dunno what "crushes" about this schedule.
I get it. The lineup isn't great. Anyone see that ACL lineup earlier today? It's just as bad, maybe worse, and you won't see nearly as much going to ACL as you would going to Bonnaroo.
bonnaroo isn't as bad as ACL guys! is a terrible rally cry.
It only goes two hours later than Coachella? Ok. It goes two hours later than Coachella.
Compared to years past when multiple shows were scheduled past 3am, with multiple sets through the years going until sunrise, having only one shizty act playing after 2 is a pretty big change from years past. For a brand that touts "party all night" bonnaroo isn't delivering.
U2 only gets an hour and a half? Do you think they're going to tell U2 to fuck off at the ninety-minute mark and cut their PA or something? Especially with fifteen minutes of dead time on the schedule after their set? U2 plays as long as they want. And they're certainly not ending early or anything like the golden boys in Tame Impala.
April 2016:Pearl Jam are only given 2 hours? Pearl Jam are known to extend their sets, no way they stop at 2 hours. Bonnaroo isn't going to kick them off the stage, they'll let them play as long as they want! Remember when they played like 3 encores in 2008?
June 2016: Pearl Jam doesn't play more than 2 hours.
That might have been because of the weather delay, they couldn't have them play past 1:30am. But I'm still of the opinion U2 won't go more than 15 minutes over their set time.

And we're making fun of them for having a cinema tent now? Cool.
I wasn't going to bonnaroo. Now I am since the sched crushes. Thank good the golden boys in Tame Impala aren't playing too long again this year. Thank good there aren't too many conflicts on the schedule, Roo needs to reduce the conflists are much as possible, and they've made the right step by going only two hours later than Coachella and the ACL boys, the signature late nigths needs to cut off earlier and the headliner sets could be shorter. Less conflicts, IMO, and so much bullshit.

I'm fully prepared for both of those bands and have a pretty identical sched to yours. Only bands im not too familiar with are Margo Price, Kevin Abstract, Hippo Campus, and Twiddle
Definitely Future Islands. Tough call on the other, depends how hot it is.
Thanks for the help. Getting a little concerned that FI is just going to drop the same album over and over again until the end of time, while Mike K has dropped two completely different albums, the second of which I'd put up against singles.
Was also worried that What will result in a less rowdy crowd for White Reaper. It should be insanely easy to get in the pit/shade for that show. Were you saying that if both shows were shaded, you would take white reaper?
Now's the part where I say my record label did a release with Noname back in the day so you should definitely go see her, but White Reaper owns so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thursday: Hippo Campus > Twiddle > Orwells > Limon Twigs/Ten Fe > Turkauz > Kevin Abstract
Friday: Magic City Hippies > Klangstof > Khruangbin > Kevin Morby/Stumbellas > CSH > CWK > *Eat Dinner* > The xx > Glass Animals > U2 > Portugal > Big Gigantic
Saturday: The Front Bottoms > Rainbow Kitten Surprise > Ruen Brothers > Joseph > Michael K > Chance > Cage > RHCP > Superjam
