Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm trying to remain hopeful that there will be at least one surprise set on The Other Stage after Marshmello and Big G. It would be a huge slap in the face for all the Roo veterans who are used to partying until the sun's up and I think it would be the straw that breaks the camel's back for a lot of people who have been on the fence about coming back to the farm. I'm coming this year for sure but if they actually close centeroo down at 3:00 this year I'll be way less inclined to come back next year.
As terrible as this sounds, I still plan to party until sunrise via Silent Disco, the Xmas Barn, and random stages in the campgrounds.
That's what this has come to.
Oh for sure that's what I'll be doing this year if those are the only option available. I just don't think late night silent disco would be enough to convince a lot of people to come back next year.

One silver lining of the shorter headlining sets is that we get a lot more shows in the dark pre-headliner than we used to.
So in 2013, I think Macca was 9-12, then we had 8 post macca shows for late night. In 2017, from 9-U2 we have 6 shows, then 5 shows after U2. Same for Chili Peppers.
I know there is the whole "Magic of after Midnight vibez" factor, but we are getting a larger number of sets during the dark this way.
Obviously shitty lineup will lead to a shitty looking schedule but I think they did a good job given the lineup. Although this certifies that this is probably my last bonnaroo.

I'm treating this as Bonnaroo's funeral for me. Going to make sure I take everything in that I may not have noticed in the past and reflect on all of my great memories there. No fucking chance I'll be back.

Agreed 100%. I'm just sad I never got to experience bonnaroo during its good years.
So much bullshit in this thread. Either you were going to Bonnaroo or you weren't. If you were, this schedule crushes.
when there aren't many good options, easy to have a conflict free schedule. otherwise, I dunno what "crushes" about this schedule. Pretty much what I'm saying. If you like the music that is good, you get to see the music that is good. Friday could have been ruined by a cluster of conflicts, same for Sunday, but instead they are both great days. Point being, pretty much everybody who hated the lineup would hate this schedule, regardless. What about the schedule that you weren't anticipating makes it so bad?
I get it. The lineup isn't great. Anyone see that ACL lineup earlier today? It's just as bad, maybe worse, and you won't see nearly as much going to ACL as you would going to Bonnaroo.
bonnaroo isn't as bad as ACL guys! is a terrible rally cry. I'm just wondering what the alternative is. What festivals are so much better than Roo that this is worth piling on?
It only goes two hours later than Coachella? Ok. It goes two hours later than Coachella.
Compared to years past when multiple shows were scheduled past 3am, with multiple sets through the years going until sunrise, having only one shizty act playing after 2 is a pretty big change from years past. For a brand that touts "party all night" bonnaroo isn't delivering. Yeah. Compared to every other festival and every other year of Roo, this isn't the best. What else is new?
U2 only gets an hour and a half? Do you think they're going to tell U2 to fuck off at the ninety-minute mark and cut their PA or something? Especially with fifteen minutes of dead time on the schedule after their set? U2 plays as long as they want. And they're certainly not ending early or anything like the golden boys in Tame Impala.
April 2016:Pearl Jam are only given 2 hours? Pearl Jam are known to extend their sets, no way they stop at 2 hours. Bonnaroo isn't going to kick them off the stage, they'll let them play as long as they want! Remember when they played like 3 encores in 2008?
June 2016: Pearl Jam doesn't play more than 2 hours. I wasn't saying that, because I could not give less of a shit about Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam had to play late due to a storm. Also, Pearl Jam sucks. I'd take an hour and a half of U2 over Pearl Jam eight days a week.

And we're making fun of them for having a cinema tent now? Cool.
I wasn't going to bonnaroo. Now I am since the sched crushes. Thank good the golden boys in Tame Impala aren't playing too long again this year. Thank good there aren't too many conflicts on the schedule, Roo needs to reduce the conflists are much as possible, and they've made the right step by going only two hours later than Coachella and the ACL boys, the signature late nigths needs to cut off earlier and the headliner sets could be shorter. Less conflicts, IMO, and so much bullshit.
Tame ended early. Anyone who was paying attention knew they would, because they don't have the material or interest to play longer than 80 minutes. But let's all keep sucking their dicks because they decided to write pop songs that sound like old psychedelic bands.
Really trying to make late night movies a feature I guess. What a fucking party. Stay up late, watch some movies, maybe mom will make us some brownies!
Were mothers that upset by MMJ playing four hour in the rain? Did junior get the sniffles?

Since everyone values my opinion so much:
Thursday: Hippo Campus -> Twiddle -> GoldFish/mostly Orwells -> Kyle Kinane, Morgan Miller -> Lemon Twigs/mostly Ten Fe -> Turkuaz -> G Jones -> Kaiydo
Friday: U Talkin U2 to Me? -> Klangstof -> Khruangbin -> Barclay Crenshaw -> Car Seat Headrest -> D.R.A.M./Jay Som -> Angelique Kidjo's Remain in Light -> The xx -> U2 pit line -> U2 -> Claude VonStroke/mostly Portugal. the Man -> Big Gigantic
Saturday: Big Jesus -> Lukas Nelson -> Deap Vally -> Improv Shakespeare -> Tegan and Sara -> Michael Kiwanuka -> REZZ -> Warpaint -> Cage the Elephant -> RHCP -> Superjam/Shpongle
Sunday: Tank and the Bangas -> River Whyless -> White Reaper -> Margo Price -> Royal Blood -> Umphrey's McGee -> Skepta/mostly Crystal Castles -> Lorde -> BadBadNotGood -> The Weeknd
I think that's a pretty solid four days. But what do I know? I'm going to Bonnaroo.

This schedule is damn near perfect for me.
Thur: Hippo Campus > Twiddle > The Orwells > Charlotte Cardin > Ten Fe > Turkuaz > Allan Rayman > Kaiydo
Fri: Twin Limb > Blossoms > Car Seat Headrest > Cold War Kids(if anything, might skip) > Nightly > The xx > Glass Animals > U2 > Portugal the Man > Big G
Sat: COIN > Rainbow Kitten Surprise > Tegan & Sara > Future Islands > Bad Suns/The Head & The Heart > Chance The Rapper > Cage The Elephant > RHCP > Flume
Should I do Claude Vonstroke or Portugal. the Man? I like Portugal, but not as much as everyone else seems to like them. I think they're good, but I'm not seeing what all the hype is about. Should I check them out and potentially be blown away? Or should I see Claude Vonstroke and have a guaranteed weird time. I don't feel strongly about either. Should I just go watch the Princess Bride instead?

How much did they pay U2? Pearl Jam clearly has 2 different festival booking fees. Pay up, get a full set (see Telluride 16), pay discounted rate, get the 3/4 set (see Bonnaroo 2016).....

Their light show is top notch, they jam a ton in their set, and they are bonnaroo all stars. I think the fact that they're playing latenight, and one of the only true rock bands doing so, means they're going to put on an amazing performance. I wouldn't miss it for someone you can see any other time.

If you don't feel strongly about either then I would recommend PTM.
If you hate the lineup, that's one thing. But the schedule they made with their lineup is not bad at all. Aside from Warpaint and Chance, none of my main acts conflict.
The biggest issue is without a doubt the late nights.
I remember freaking out in 2014 about Frank Ocean, Flaming Lips, Darkside, Nick Cave, and the Superjam all playing late night on Saturday. Good times.

If you like fun dance music you'll immediately have fun at Vonstroke. Similar to you I've never caught the PtM hype so I'd be at Vonstroke.
