When I lived in Greenwich Village I used to go to the same New York Sports Club as Nick from YYY's. Dude looks apathetic even when he's lifting weights.
YYYs are one of my all time favorite bands. I like them because the noise they make sounds great in my ear holes.
Seeing them in their home town out doors on a summer night is going to be great.
This is kind of a cunty response Launchy but I get it. Like sometimes people like the harmonies, or the riffs, or the choruses are catchy, or they are obsessed with the singers voice. That's what I'm getting at. There's usually something that draws you to a band. I'll look into some of the vids posted in here though when I get out of work.

I can't explain to you why I like the music I like. To me that is like asking someone why they like one kind of food and not another. Its taste.

Lol at this comparison. I don't mind Paramore but I don't even really consider them a band. Aren't they just a made up group a label put together for Hayley because she didn't want to be a solo artist? And don't they all hate each other?

That's not true at all. They formed the band when they were I think 13 and all went to school together.

Oh wow didn't know that - thanks. Just going off stories I heard but a wikipedia dive solved all that. Some original members gone looks like but yeah definitely a band.
Hailey's voice is better and their songs are way catchier. It's also a lot "poppier" if that makes sense. Not really a fan of either but people seem to praise YYY's on here and shit on Paramore. I guess I'm just looking to see what I'm missing and why anyone actively wishes to see YYY's. I tried watching multiple live performances to see if maybe that's the difference and it just looks like people on stage dressing weird and for the sake of being weird and the music is the same. Bordering on annoying. I could be skipping songs that would make me change my tune that's why I ask.
I think it's really a lot of just personal preference. I really enjoy all of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and can't stand Paramore.
On these boards it seems like everyone's got one or two bands that seemed to be loved by everyone yet disliked. I know for me, I just don't get Vampire Weekend. So to each their own

Looking like Travis Scott, YYYs, NERD, CHVRCHES, and Gaslight Anthem are all exclusive to Gov Ball this year.
I gotta say comparatively to the other US fests that have been announced GovBall ain't looking so bad. Of course, living in NY, I have some homer bias, but can't say I am too disappointed in many of the acts missing from this lineup that are on the others.

After seeing various US festival lineups this year, I'm definitely happy I bought a 3-day advance to Gov Ball. Looking at the Gov Ball lineup, I can down to nearly the last line and still see acts I'm interested in seeing. I can't even get halfway down Firefly's until I run into only names I'm unfamiliar with.
