Yo all I'm pretty excited for this festival. Where is everyone staying? I'll be at an air bnb about a mile north east of the park near a Trader Jose. I can't wait to talk about hanging out with everyone here on the boards and then avoid all of you at the actual festival when my anxiety kicks in!

Since I'm not going barring some radical change in plans, should we take nominations for the person trick or trant is going to talk a lot of trash about kicking in the dick leading up to the festival and not make any move to do so at the actual festival? Semi serious question for those that dislike GVF: How do you feel about rap sampling, or an artist like Girl Talk who straight up plays other artist’s music in mash-up?
As someone who writes E X T R E M E L Y generic rock music I'll say GVF has pretty much completely emulated Zeppelin's sound, but whatever? It doesn't bother me.
Sampling shows some sort of self-awareness. Greta Van Fleet seems to be trying to pretend this is some sort of coincidence.
I don't like listening to them because it's profoundly bizarre that they are Led Zeppelin pastiche and act like it's completely normal.
And honestly it's just kind of fun to complain about it on the internet. I don't really care that much. And the more people that go see them the more will not see me embarrass myself freaking out at Charly Bliss.
Guys I still can’t pick between The D and The Voidz. This new album by the Voidz is so good. My group of 7 is torn between who to see too. With Tenacious D saying they have a new album coming and The Voidz just releasing their new album, who do you think would be more likely to be at Roo next year out of those two. A return from Tenacious D or The Voidz since Julian hasn’t been back for awhile either. I keep having this horrible feeling whoever I pick to see at Shaky, are gonna be playing at Roo the next year. I know both might not. But Murphy’s law, am I right?
I would pick Voidz but I’m a huge Voidz/Strokes fan. D is definitely harder to see but there hasn’t been a tour announcement for The Voidz so who knows
Threat title should change to "The D or the Voidz?" for our friend...only for 56 seconds then back debating is Greta Van Fleet a good band name.
My vote goes to the D for rarity sake. The Voidz should be around and touring for a bit. Strokes may get called up some random fest gig but I doubt Julian Casablancas will work full time again with them for a few years.

I absolutely hated the Voidz when I saw them live and they aren't that rare of a booking, they are just are fairly new and the strokes took priority for a little bit for Julian, but that seems it won't be the case for a little while.

see I’m a huge Strokes fan too and love Julian’s solo stuff and fell in love with The Voidz when they first came out with Tyranny. I know Tenacious D is harder too see and I always tell myself to make that choice when I have the chance. But damn. Everyone here seems to not be making it easier lol, still seems split evenly. At least I have 30 more days of crying to decide.

they seem pretty rare of a booking, not super rare, but they defiantly don’t play a lot of shows, also could just be because they are fairly new like you stated tho.

Why even try to decide now? Just do what you feel like at the fest.
And definitely don't try to keep a group of seven together the whole time. Y'all should just go to whatever sets you feel like and meet up with whatever friend has picked each one. Everyone will be much happier that way.
