Alvvays and Hinds headlining...it's bold, but I like it.
Completely out of order of course...just random bands I'd like to see at Shaky Knees. Not like a mock lineup or anything. But yes I'd love to have Hinds as a headliner. Don't you know Tim Sweetwood likes to give smaller bands headlining slots?

Arcade Fire probably isn't happening because of their date in Duluth in September. They're not a band that makes it through Atlanta very often and I couldn't imagine them coming back again to play this festival.
Because of that, I can see Shaky going in a few possible directions...
1. Some band from 2014 comes back: Jack White, Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys take the #1 spot 2. They go huge and book a 90's rock band like Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers, or Radiohead (Radiohead will absolutely not happen but I can daydream) 3. They bump up someone that should have been #2 to #1 like this did this year, like Bon Iver
Anyone think Fleet Foxes could be a #4? My dream scenario would be something like:
Bon Iver - Queens of the Stone Age - Arctic Monkeys Fleet Foxes - Sufjan Stevens - Grizzly Bear - Spoon St. Vincent - Franz Ferdinand - Feist - Courtney Barnett
That being said FF will probably headline if they play. Also, would the Grizzly Bear show at the Tab not rule them out? I know some bands came back this year after only playing a couple months before but I don't recall it being anyone that high up on the lineup.

Flaming Lips -> QOTSA with Animal Collective closing Piedmont Sigur Ros -> Fleet Foxes with Beach House closing Piedmont Death Cab for Cutie -> Vampire Weekend with Belle & Sebastian closing Piedmont
Vampire Weekend - Queens of the Stone Age - Fleet Foxes Death Cab for Cutie - Sigur Ros - Flaming Lips - Beach House Belle & Sebastian - Animal Collective - Kaleo

This would be incredible. I feel like we could also get The National for this next year. And if Interpol follows through with an early-2018 record as they've claimed, I would say they're likely as well.

This festival has become my only blind buy and I'm coming from Connecticut, so that's saying something about the quality of the lineups.
(In no particular order) Arcade Fire - Arctic Monkeys - Jack White Fleet Foxes - War on Drugs - Future Islands Best Coast - Courtney Barnett - Broken Social Scene Frank Turner - Japandroids - Grimes
Arcade Fire - Wilco - Fleet Foxes Death Cab for Cutie (performing Transatlanticism in its entirety... please) - M83 - HAIM - Sufjan Stevens Of Monsters and Men - Animal Collective - Kaleo - Foals
M83 and Foals would be enough for me to go to my first Shaky Knees...
But I have a hard time believing M83 will be back on tour so soon. They seem to take more time between tours/albums.
Meh, not really sure the proximity (time) means anything anymore. They had a ton of acts this year that had been in Atlanta nearish (~+/- 6-7 months) to SK. Hell, Lewis Del Mar played in Atlanta like 2 months before SK. And seeing that SK has been owned (essentially) by livenation since 2016, I don't see them having an issue with SK booking the same artists.
Still really, really just hoping they choose not to use centennial as a venue again. One thing gives me a glimmer of hope, though. From an AJC article:
The authority also is suspending booking new events for the park for the next 18 months to complete the upgrades by January 2019. Park events on the books prior to the new construction timeline -- including the 2018 Sweetwater 420 Festival and festivities surrounding the 2018 College Football Playoff -- will take place as scheduled.
Hopefully that means SK didn't book there soon enough? That's me being optimistic. Me being realistic is more like "Or maybe they just didn't feel like including SK as an example of a park event ."
