Just out of curiosity, what steps did you take to find it? I have a passing interest in web development so this sorta thing interests me. Feel free to PM me if you're more comfortable with that.
If this isn't real, the actual lineup will almost definitely be worse and I will be #SAD
I have a suspicion...
...Everything that's been leaking today is this year's game, but instead of looking for vinyl albums or waiting for cards in the mail, we've been running across lineup leaks online all day long which may be true and may be false, and we're all playing detective, trying to suss out the truth.
We've got a lot of evidence which *seems* legit, yet there are things which just seem wrong...like booking The Killers to appear less than five months after their Garden show and announcing the date right before their Garden show. Like the fact that they're reusing last year's color scheme. Like the fact that all of the white lettering on the poster is a smidgen lower than the black lettering.
If this is a game and Crash Line is behind this, then the lineup absolutely has to be legit, because neither the organization nor anyone there would want to antagonize artists, bookers, record labels, etc. with a stunt like this.
Maybe the poster is fake, but it was put together by someone working from the actual list of performers, because this seems like a very legit and very strong lineup. What makes me think that the info is legit is that I can't imagine that someone just making this up off the top of their head would come up with the idea of splitting the "Thunderdome" programming between the originally planned film festival, live podcasts, and comedy.
That lineup is just so...right...for what Boston Calling has become that I can't imagine that someone just made it up.
And yet, there are some glaring "What The Quack" issues with billing. Bryson Tiller billed above the four acts which follow him on the poster? Maggie Rogers is too high, and Dirty Projectors and Julien Baker are too low.
I've fallen down the rabbit hole and I'm loving it!!
I'll just say that I'm really happy with this lineup. Not over the moon thrilled, but very happy. I'd rather see this lineup than Coachella or Gov Ball.
In fact, it's so good that there are going to be some mighty big conflicts to resolve. Without having yet checked out a single act with which I'm unfamiliar, I count over 20 acts that I want to see. I'm sure that I'll be adding more to the list once I check out the acts I don't know on YouTube.
OK, then offer some reasons why the big multi-genre fests are moving away like crazy from acts which draw a lot of fans over 40. If you're trying to sell as many tickets as possible, you'd aim for a lineup which hits as many eras and genres as possible. Look at the Coachella, Hangout, and Gov Ball lineups and you'll see that all of those lineups are phasing out acts which appeal to older music fans...acts which we still saw in festival lineups a couple of years ago.
As for younger people being uncomfortable around older people, when I was in high school or college, the last thing me and my friends wanted were people our parents' or grandparents' age around when we were partying in one way or another. I get it. It's perfectly normal to not want the old folks around at festivals, on spring break, at the club, whatever. And I wonder whether festivals are trying to create as hospitable an environment as possible for Millennials -- since they comprise the largest segment of the festival market -- by managing the lineups in a way that discourages older people from attending.
If I'm running a business, I want to maximize my profits. If festival promoters are backing away from the sort of acts which appeal strongly to older audiences and leaving short term dollars on the table by not selling an extra 5,000 tickets or so by bringing in acts that appeal to Boomers, the most logical reason for doing that is that the industry feels that there's long term financial advantage in creating a Millennial Wonderland which younger fans will want to return to year after year.
It's more that promoters are slowly turning their festivals into massive parties rather than actual music festivals. You know, hedonism over culture/art.
No one is eating enough pussy for any festival to be considered hedonism
As festivals continue to look more and more similar and so many acts end up being ones many people have seen before, Boston Calling does a great job of booking several acts I want to see but haven't (a pool that grows smaller and smaller) alongside acts that I have seen and would love to see again. The percentage of acts that I actively dislike is very small.
Only question left to resolve...Belly the band or Belly the rapper?
The rapper is at Gov Ball so likely that. Band would be awesome though. Tauk is a great band but seems a bit out of place here. Musically one of the best bands you will find but instrumental jam music doesn't seem to fit here. Always a great show though if you're into that or open minded.

Last year they had Xylouris White, who according to Wikipedia, have been described as combining 'free-jazz, avant-rock and ages-old Greek folk traditions.'"
So I think there's room for a little jam. The National did curate a Grateful Dead covers album after all.
Wow this is a damn good lineup for my tastes. I'm now considering to stay at my friend's in NYC for a day, then bus or train or somehow get to Boston in time for a day or two of this, instead of going to NYC the following week for GovBall.

Definitely the best east coast fest so far. Bummed about no David Byrne (was so sure it was gonna happen), but this is a crazy solid undercard. I would totally trade QotSA for YYYs tho.

Always room for jam in my book! Just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the lineup but those willing to check it out should be impressed. Most people outside the jam scene can't get past the instrumental aspect.

Really wish this wasn't Memorial Day weekend.
Most jambands are best when they don't sing anyways. Also they'll almost definitely open up one of the stages, which seems like a solid way to enter into the day.
