Are you going solo or splitting lodging costs with someone?
Probably solo but I’m working on getting someone to split the cost.
I have a feeling that if I go it'll be solo, in which case I'd be down to split with you. I won't know for sure though until some time Pano and Firefly drop.

Another question, will you be driving to Boston or flying?
Driving
If you're looking to save money on lodging, you could get a hotel outside Boston near the Alewife stop on the Red Line, and take the train in to the Harvard station. The festival is about a 10-15 minute leisurely walk from the station.
Hotels in Boston are going to be pretty pricy ($800+ for Thurs-Sun). Airbnb is an option as well, but that's something I would book soon if you want to go that direction.
I swear they post 3 times a day on Facebook telling people to buy tickets. It’s overkill.
Are you on computer or phone? If you're not using ublock origin (ad blocker plugin) you are missing out. Im always reminded of how terrible ads are when going on YouTube or Facebook on a different computer.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Really digging this lineup so I’m trying everything I can.

Oh no, I meant they actually make facebook posts telling people to buy tickets multiple times everyday.

Ahhh....I think that they must do both regular posts and ad posts because I occasionally see them for a second before the plugin hides them. Not sure if I like/follow the page or not so maybe only see the ads.
Just curious if anyone purchased VIP or Platinum last year at the new venue? My girlfriend and I went last year GA and were very disappointed with the organization of most things. For example how the bathroom lines merged with the theatre line, which made it difficult to get through to the other side. With that said It’s looking like this might be the only festival we do this year and trying to see if it’s worth it to spend the extra money?
I did find the initial comedy lineup good but lacking a big name (putting aside the fact that we don't really know what Natalie Portman is doing)
I'm assuming Portman is doing her film festival/curating thing she was supposed to do last year. That got changed and replaced with comedy I think. Either way, something like this probably:
Fleet Foxes playing Indianapolis the 24th and Burlington the 26th, so I'm guessing they'll be at BC on Sunday the 27th before heading off to Europe.
Hoping they'll be up against Em...
Also Natalie Portman will be doing her film thing. Saw BC respond to someone's comment somewhere confirming that and saying the scheduling just didn't work out last year
Getting the day by day breakdown early is a very good thing
Agreed
Also makes me pretty sure they're not selling great this year.
I'm pumped to know which day all the Eminem fans are gonna show up and talk about how they're only there for Eminem during all the other artists' sets. Shit's gonna be lit!
Also from the looks of it The Decemberists are gearing up for a new album, which makes that booking even better
Eh, in hindsight, the new songs they premiered at Boston Calling in 2014 weren't necessarily the best songs on that then-unreleaed album.
I don't think that a festival is always the best environment in which to perform unreleased material. It's not a "sit quietly and listen carefully" environment.

IIRC, the overly aggressive promoting is normal for them
I don't remember when they announced daily lineups last year though

Decemberists on Sunday, according to the e-mail they just sent out with their tour dates.
And the new album will be out in March, which gives those so inclined a chance to get up close and personal with it long before the festival, so that's good.

The album will be out before the fest (3/16), so it should work a little better this time.
Agreed that testing new material at a festival can be tough, especially Boston Calling, and especially after the downpour that they started their set in. But I'm pretty sure they debuted Lake Song there which is easily one of the top 2 songs on that album.
EDIT: Also, Decemberists are playing Sunday according to tour dates
