Is this the kinda festival that teases acts via social media or are those random Facebook posts just random Facebook posts? Ariel Pink and togetherPangea kinda made me sit up and take notice.
(I believe) the following acts still don't have D.C. dates
LCD Phoenix the xx St. Vincent (no dates yet) Father John Misty Belle and Sebastian Spoon Tegan and Sara Sampha
Even tho half of those play or have played MPP.
I'm pissed that Phoenix and FJM don't have any DC/Baltimore area dates. I hope that changes. I know FJM is playing opening at the Merriweather 50th anniversary show, but he's gotta do a headlining gig or 2 somewhere else in the area.

I'd be shocked if Phoenix doesn't play The Anthem in the winter
Some of you guys had wildly unrealistic expectations for a music festival held in the parking lot of a glorified Dean and Deluca.
Well when you drop a presale price of 180 for a 3 day fest, you think Forecastle. I'm not really sure who on earth will buy for this fest at this price.

California gets all these awesome pop up festivals or whatever and on the East Coast we get dumped this turd? A 3 day festival where there is literally not one act I'd be excited about. Easy money saved at least.

The single days are the same price as last year, and the lineup is of pretty similar quality, IMO.
Saturday is pretty cool actually, and the only day where I'd enjoy seeing more than 2 artists - breaking out genres by day should really make single day tickets move decently, though $80 is pretty steep, especially for Friday.

Last year's single day had Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Sylvan Esso and Christine and the Queens (though the latter ended up cancelling). All of which shared at least some consistency in terms of genre and style. Frankly, I thought $80 for the day wasn't worth it in the end, but there were social factors that made me do it so no regrets.
Fans of the respective artists playing this year would have been much better off with a cheaper standalone regional show in a proper venue.

I hear you, but at least the East gets festivals. I'm stuck in Florida where most music festivals go to die. I get Okeechobee and Ultra plus Hullaween if I really really want to drive up north.

Well I wouldn't expect Florida to have as many festivals within driving distance as the mid Atlantic, where Baltimore/Philly/D.C./NY/Pittsburgh/etc. are all within 4 or 5 hours.

I always have my hopes too high. I bought in the blind presale, and, um, no. Three tickets cost me 480, rather than the 533 it would cost now. If anyone is interested in said tickets, pm me.

Same! I'm dying to see FJM. If I.M.P can get him to come out to Maryland out of the tour schedule to perform at a anniversary concert then I'm sure they can get him to add a show on his tour, probably after the West Coast dates in October. Maybe they are waiting to announce a FJM show till after the anniversary show?
