Did anyone see the email from I.M.P? From now until the shutdown ends or 11:59pm on Monday, January 14, they are offering a buy a ticket and get one free offer to every 9:30 Club, The Anthem, Lincoln Theatre, and 9:30 Presents at U Street Music Hall show (so long as they’re not sold out) happening through February 8th. Use the code 930Freebie in the promo code box.

Just speculation but do we think Tame Impala comes around the area this year and if so Anthem or MPP? Hopefully not Jiffy Lube Live but I don't see that happening. Really hoping I don't have to travel to a fest to see them.
The Who just announced a tour that’s likely going to be their final one, with a 5/11 (Saturday!) date up at Jiffy Lube. Tickets go on sale Thursday 1/24 at 10:00am. There’s a lot to hate about the venue, but aren’t the lawn tickets usually reasonably priced?

Not when you add up the damn service fees. Also, I was at The Lube last year and watched LIVE for a portion of their set from the very front of the lawn (we found an usher later on to upgrade us to the 301 section), and I remember the sound being inferior from the lawn versus in the seats.

So, Merriweather has switched to Ticketmaster as the official ticketing service. Ugh.
That sucks in regards to fees but maybe this means Live Nation will be booking more show with IMP which means Merriweathers lineup may be in for a treat. don’t know any of this to be true but it seems that way

Why would Live Nation book acts at Merriweather when they got Jiffy Lube to fill?
More money. They’ve already tested the waters a bit, had a show at Lincoln and anthem in 2018, a show at anthem in 2019(meek mill). I don’t think we’ve ever seen a year where a tour has hit Merriweather and jiffy lube on the same leg and that’s the case with the bootie and the blowfish tour. I think we may see more of that in the future.

But are Hootie and the Blowfish promoted exclusively by Live Nation throughout 2019? It's certainly possible that LN will put on shows at MPP, but given their vertical integration model of owning the venues, they'll at least want Jiffy Lube to get in the black.
Sidenote, since I believe you work at The Anthem: any idea why MPP made the switch to Ticketmaster from Ticketfly? Does this mean that 9:30 and The Anthem will do the same?

I have no clue, really weird though. Wonder if it maybe that hack from last year has something to do with it. Idk though just my thoughts
