I’m wondering if we’ll get a Rage DC show announcement when the Boston Calling and Firefly lineups drop. Someone said that they think there has been a wait with the festivals because their management wants to announce additional dates coinciding with the festival appearances. I think it would be dope if they worked with IMP and did something at MPP or RFK.
I think RFK has been officially condemned due to asbestos
I’m talking like their festival grounds. Broccoli City is happening there. I just don’t know where else they could play. Capital One is too small and FedEx doesn’t seem like their vibe. Maybe Nats Park?

Got totally shut out of Pearl Jam tickets which is a huge bummer. I guess it was too good to be true that they were playing Baltimore. If anyone ends up with an extra ticket, please let me know.

The 1975 already sold out The Anthem. It's weird that they didn't play Merriweather this time around since it might have made their tour schedule easier:

5/21: Toronto
5/23: The Anthem
5/24: Boston Calling
5/26: Madison Square Garden
5/29: MD Live!
5/30: Camden, NJ
I was thinking the same exact thing. A summer MPP show would’ve been nice. I’ve been needing a reason to go out there again, but there hasn’t been anything appealing on their schedule yet. Maybe The Cure does a show there?

The Cure would be fantastic! Last summer was pretty good. I made it out to Florence & the Machine, Brandi Carlile, Beck/Cage, and Vampire Weekend.

I bet the band really loved playing at The Anthem last year and wanted to come back.
Glad I got a ticket during presale, because 1975 + Phoebe Bridgers is a solid combo.
yeah, as they note in the piece it seems indicative of IMP being somewhat unsettled internally at the moment.
not worried about IMP’s booking power, but it is telling that it’ll take three people to fill Melanie’s role. Zhubin Aghamolla goes from graduating undergrad/being a Caps intern in 2015 to being the lead booker for 9:30 Club in the span of five years, quite the career trajectory
Does anyone here have a decent idea for how booking for IMP for the non Live nation tours really works? Is it lump sum generally like festivals or % based, etc etc

You mean in terms of fees, or something different.
Just looked at the seating chart for the upcoming Roger Waters show. Lots of tickets still on sale, which is surprising.

Artist fees
No different from any other tour I presume, where management agents and bookers negotiate to put on the show and IMP gets a cut (but where the vast majority of their income still comes from alcohol sales).
The difference being with conglomerates like Live Nation/Goldenvoice is that they can book deals for an entire tour compared to just a date or two.

Glass Animals @ U Street on February 25th. Tickets on sale at noon.
Aren’t they a little big for U Street? I love that venue, and have seen some awesome shows there, but booking GA for such a small capacity venue seems a little odd.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Imagine it had to do with the show being like next week and what had availability

It's a deliberate undersell, all venues on that mini-tour are tiny.

Gotchaaaaa. Hadn't been following their tour, so I didn't realize it was announced so close to the show happening!

I believe the purpose of this tour is to test out new material and to ease back into touring after their drummer’s accident. A lot of the venues they are playing are the same ones that they played when they first came to the U.S.
