maybe we’re getting a new venue? I’ve seen unknown venue a couple times on Songkick
Possibly. I can't figure out a market that RVA needs though. For them, I think they're adding dates as they go along. Like Baltimore and Richmond weren't on the dates they dropped last week. I suspect it's the Music Hall or The Camel with more emphasis on the Music Hall.
The band got a "yes" but the promoter is working on the venue.
Nah, we're not getting another new venue. Eventbrite has the venue listed as The Warehouse, so it's an underground kinda thing

Thanks for the heads up. I forget that Evenbrite is a thing and didn't check it. Gonna hold out to make sure they aren't additions to Big Ears. If they aren't, I'm all over this.

Big Virginia Beach Festival news
1) Something In The Water is switching to a different weekend in 2024. That new date has not been revealed yet, but the city is working on it with organizers. 2) Audacy will be hosting a festival during SITW's usual weekend. They plan on curating a lineup of pop & rock artists. 3) Local promoter IMGOING is proposing to host a reggae festival from May 31 to June 2 with free shows at Oceanfront parks and ticketed shows on the beach.

This is my backyard. And yet it's the worst. Not really even worth jokes to me. Not because of NIMBY (at least for me) but because these teams should be in the District. As a DC born guy, I always want the teams to be in the heart of the city they represent. All the teams should be there, including the stupid NFL team. Sure I can walk to games now but I'll be thinking about all the folks in and around Chinatown who will be left hurting from this. Just nothing good about this at all.

Richmond’s new riverfront amphitheater is gonna be called Riverfront Amphitheater.
Congrats on being Richmond.
what caliber of artists do we think this’ll be able to pull?
Better than what they pull at Brown's Island and VACU Live since Live Nation is involved. I'm thinking a similar pull to Portsmouth Pavilion, Pier Six Pavilion in MD, and Live Oak Bank Pavilion in NC.

what caliber of artists do we think this’ll be able to pull?
They mentioned DMB, Sarah McLachlan, Tyler Childers and Lainey Wilson as artists playing in comparable venues. Brandi, Phish, Stapleton, and the Strokes are also represented by RLM. It wouldn’t shock me if they got DMB or Stapleton for the grand opening
I’m personally hoping for something like Jungle, Khruangbin, Mitski, Rufus, and VW

it’s red light so assuming DMB and Stapleton will be near-Annual events
I said the same thing when Matthew’s and Capshaw bought the Flood Zone many years ago ( about DMB obviously as this was the late 90’s) and they just shut it down. This place is looking to have a 7.5k capacity so I’m expecting it to be closer to the Cville Pavilion than the John Paul Jones.
