Totally unrelated question, but what are you guys doing for phone service? I'm going to Europe next year.
If your phone is unlocked (paid for outright or through paying on your contract) you can pick up a prepaid Sims card for cheap when you’re there. If not, you’re at the mercy of your provider and paying roaming and/or looking for wifi.
I bought a Solis hotspot a few years ago. It’s subscription based but it works everywhere (pretty much just not cruises). $50/month for unlimited. soliswifi.co/

Yeah 10 bucks a day for talk and text and .5 GB of data with Verizon. I ran out of data somehow one day, idk if a podcast downloaded that wasn't supposed to or what, and I got a text offering me another .5 gigs for another ten bucks.

Gizz #3 was the best Gizz yet! Persistence was as great a jam vehicle as I hoped, one of my favorites from the new album. Two classic Nonagon cuts, K.G.L.W. was a great closer, Superbug is maybe the best song on Infest.. They shredded.

the dripping tap segment in the middle of robot stop was my favorite part of it, great set
Main wants for the last two Gizz shows for me gotta be Crumbling Castle, Murder suite and Evilest Man from the new album. Evilest Man seems like it could be an epic jam. Lots of instrumental sections and good start and resolution points for jams in my mind.
Seems like they're saving Rattlesnake for the festival weekend opposite Dripping Tap, like at Coachella. Was kinda hoping they'd close with it last night since they had the microtonal instruments out, but they went with a more spontaneous set, Stu called out Automation on the spot, and did the K.G.L.W. closer.
75 minutes did not feel long enough. I know that sounds kinda crazy in the context of five shows in a week, but that set really flew by.
Edit: also would be great to get some early stuff like off of the first EP or LP. Muckraker would be awesome, or Black Tooth. They very rarely play any of that stuff, which is weird because I think it holds up.
This Gizz show was the best. This setlist had everything I ever wanted and they fucking delivered. First half hour was insane, they just kept going. Barely any stops. Banger after banger.

Last night the Yung Lean and Drain Gang show absolutely cleared out before the other four or so artists were supposed to go on. I wonder what the crowds looked like. 90% of the venue must have left. Originally Drain Gang wasn’t supposed to play til like 4 am but they swapped the order (thankfully). I was back to my place by midnight.
I feel fine besides allergies and the typical festival flu I felt on Sunday. I had Covid in February and took out travel insurance just in case, but I'm still beyond annoyed that the CDC is still requiring vaccinated Americans to negative to return when most other countries have removed this policy. Also America gives zero fucks about Covid so to put this extra burden on people who want to travel internationally is fucking ridiculous. Doubt I will do another international trip until the requirement is removed.

Not to mention the US is having a huge surge at the moment and no one gives a fuck. Felt safer in Copenhagen with zero restrictions.
Yeah the law is a joke when they don't even have mask mandates on planes anymore. Seriously do not understand it. The only way it makes sense is that we're just so racist as a country we have to pretend that the foreigners are the only ones who can make us sick. It's unbelievable.
negative 🙏 fingers crossed im negative on the pre flight test too. also v much agreed that the international testing requirement to get back into the US is 100% rooted in xenophobia and racism considering theres zero restrictions there

Beyond the racism and xenophobia it's also costing the tourism industry in America billions in lost revenue. People are choosing to travel to Mexico, Canada and other countries instead of the US because of this. You figure " capitalism" would win out on this one but for some reason nope lol.

Unfortunately Portugal is also having a large surge now and apparently Primavera uses Portuguese workers for all of their bar and support services so between that and Americans there's probably a lot of Covid in Barcelona currently.

I have a terrible sore throat but otherwise no real symptoms. Honestly kinda considering testing and if I get a negative calling it a trip. It’s been a blast but seeing how many people are testing positive has me really scared for being able to get a test result to get home on time. I’m not that scared of Covid, but I am scared of having Covid and having to find solo accommodations outside my hostel and be alone for a week + in a foreign country.
In hindsight, I don’t think I would’ve booked this trip if I had thought there was even a small chance of the testing requirement still being there. It’s just making it impossible for me to navigate this fest with anxiety issues.
I don't have any symptoms and feel fine. So I need a negative test to fly back to the U.S.? Any tips on the cheapest / easiest way to access that in Barcelona? My flight is Sunday evening since Iberia decided to move my flight back an entire 24 hours.
With midterms creeping up, I fully expect Dems to have their “Mission Accomplished” moment and declare the COVID threat over (not that it is) and remove that negative test thing. It just sucks it hasn’t happened by now and people traveling abroad are caught in this.
With as packed as the park looked, I’m honestly not too too surprised. I geeked out looking at that lineup but then realized they were rolling tickets over from the past two years AND then selling tickets on top of that. Everything was gonna get fucked up. The festival proper and the Ciutat shows. I passed on that alone. They should have capped it lower, imo. The fact that people are still dealing with this on top of that, is bullshit.
I haven’t seen any of you say you got shut out of venues, so congrats on that.

I’d try contacting the airline and see what’s acceptable and if they have info on where to get one.
I’ll look into it but I think the US is the only NA country that requires a test on flights. If you’re entering from Canada or Mexico by land, I don’t think you need a test. Just not sure if you can fly into either country without one.
Leaving Gorillaz was a very scary few minutes, and I'm 190 pounds and 6'1. I can't imagine being a small woman dealing with that shit.
i moved to the tyler crowd right after feel good. have found the best little tidbit if youre alone is to just head to the other crowd like 3 songs before that act ends

I wanted to leave Gorillaz for Squarepusher but I kept looking back at the huge masses of people behind me trying to get a better view and it just seemed like I'd be pushing against the crowd at that point and should wait to leave with the masses. I even made sure to leave from the non-Tyler side. Maybe should have tried harder though haha
