weekend 2 was way more Gay. Like it felt like Pridefest today. Fantastic weekend and i'm so glad i'm here till Monday! I know last weekend I said I was done with Primavera, but I might be back in a few years.
What a wonderful festival this is. Only did one day and some ciutat shows but I know I will be back for a full weekend sometime soon. The city was incredible as well and purplecowz ‘s restaurant recommendations were out of this world, Caelis may be the best meal I have ever had and Brugarol was also so so good
Maybe with the ciutat location they should just do the thing they just did because they know they can do it and how it works and people's expectations will be set idk
It really sounds like their pissed over Barcelona not supporting the festival. Apparently, they’re getting sued by a few neighborhoods, as well.
This really felt like “We’ll do it but fuck with us again and we’re outta here” sort of thing.
I love Madrid, don’t get me wrong, but a big part of my love for PS is the location. I’ve never been to another that matches it’s beauty. If they ran to Madrid, I’d go a few times but it wouldn’t be the same.
I talked to a few locals over the last few weeks and they basically think Primavera is to large now and puts stress on the city as for as transportation and hotels. Like Barcelona is big but it doesn't have as many hotels- lodging options as NYC, Chicago and LA. It's definitely hit it's limit capacity wise in BCN.

I did Caelis on Wednesday! What a great 2+ hour experience

we did that for dinner on Friday night and we were there for legit 3 hours and 45 minutes, with unreal service and a great wine pairing.
I will also add with one eye toward 2023, we did two days in Madrid before coming to Barcelona and the Madrid version of this festival is going to be hot as shit. the hottest part of the day in Madrid is like 6PM and it was very hot

Oh, absolutely. I haven’t been in years but it felt like it was busting at the seams then. I can’t imagine 80k a day for weeks on end. I’m not sure about Barcelona but I know other European cities are pushing back on tourism. It would make absolute sense if they started as well.
i'm assuming the BCN and Madrid lineups will be nearly identical like how they are doing the South American fests
Right now, I’m thinking you’re right. Madrid could resemble Oporto and be a handful of bands that played the “Main” festival.
Then there’s a part of me that says there’s no way. Ciudad de Rock has a larger capacity and was physically built for music festivals. It’s also a pain in the ass to get to for the average concert goer. If they had a lineup that was less than BCN, I’m afraid it would run the risk of not hitting close to capacity.
I’m curious as to what they do about how this is gonna work out.

Yeah wine pairings were A+. I'm into wine, but I still feel like some of the sommelier's descriptions went over my head haha.
Feel like the lads are much less likely to come down for a weekend In Madrid vs Barcelona which has a ton of cultural draw. With the sheer ambition that primavera seems to have I'd have to guess that they're going to have different lineups per each city, maybe using a stadium sized act to sell the Madrid version? The lack of transport in Madrid is concerning, even espacio madcool was rough and that's right across from Real's training ground.
it will be interesting since Mad Cool tends to book the stadium size rock acts in Madrid, but yeah i'm not really into the idea of a 30 mile shuttle ride back to city center. The free shuttle to Placa was long enough for me lol. BCN or bust for me.
Definitely interested in Madrid next year though. Cheaper hotels, amazing museums and the train links to get up to Galicia for the first time are a huge plus

I had a few friends that did Rock in Rio (in Madrid I know, I know) which was at Ciudad de Rock. They had to take a metro to Arganda del Rey (literally the last stop) and then shuttle on a bus for another 20 minutes after that. They learned a few days after they could have caught a direct shuttle from Santiago Bernabéu but still took 45 minutes to an hour.

Also feel like Arctic Monkeys are all but confirmed now.

Mad Cool would like a word lol. Brits are everywhere dude.
I'm expecting Arcade Fire, NIN and AM and Lizzo to headline next year.
they did play a ton of lizzo on the speakers. Im fine with missing that though. got my two nights of NIN at BC, two nights of Arcade Fire in November and whenever AM tours i know theyll hit Boston

We did Mad Cool once a few years ago and the metro back then ran all night for every night.
Not interested in Madrid. The terrain is plain and doesn't even come close to Parc wel Forum.
