Yeah I'm guessing we won't be getting Phish this year so I wonder if anyone else will do something at the Garden. I'm hoping to make my way out to Colorado for MMJ but if that doesn't work out I'll need some good backups.
believe it or not, the prevailing rumors say phish is playing MSG on NYE. ridiculous i know. it's possible they have a multi-year contract to fulfill.
based on historical release dates we should have an official announcement in the next few weeks, so nothing is official until then.
Still never listened to Phish. I told myself I'd make it to one of the Baker's Dozen shows but those came and went. If I end up staying in the city for New Year's hopefully I'll be able to hit one of these up.

Phish are awesome. One of those bands that I don't really "listen to" in my spare time. But if they come around I don't miss it. The New Years shows are always awesome.
I am going to wait to see if anything else pops up, since I just did 4 nights of Bakers Dozen. But this is probably what I am leaning towards doing.

As one of the resident inforoo Phish fanatics, I humbly offer my services if you are in need of listening recommendations.
The best thing to do though is just hit up a show. Even if you listen to a bit before you go you'll still have no idea what the hell is going on.
Phish NYE MSG shows typically sell out quickly, but it's hard to predict how fast it will sell out given they just played a million nights there.
No Phish NYE for me this year since I just did the last three of the Bakers Dozen. Rumor is they'll be doing another MSG residency next summer (might become an annual thing) so I might make another NYC vacation out of it then.

I didn't know you were that much of a Phish fan. I'll listen to them very casually but I def enjoyed their Roo set in 2012.

Roo 09 made me a believer. 2012 was great too. They are so good live. I appreciate that none of their live shows are really the same. 13 nights at MSG and they never repeated a track. Their fandom is the best too.
Wouldnt call myself a full blown Phish head though. I havent really followed them around and I dont listen to live recordings or anything like that.
There are some decent acts. Gramatik is great. Bassnectar, Justice DJ and Porter are fine. Bass Physics, Floozies, and Space Jesus are all pretty good. I don't really like the rest.
