Not officially on NYE, but Pinegrove announced a show on 12/29 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. Apparently going to make it an annual thing at different venues in NJ
In easily one of the top 5 announcements of NYE shows, Lotus will be playing Pittsburgh, PA at Stage AE on NYE. They will also be doing Thanksgiving shows 11/24 in Cleveland and 11/25 in Royal Oak, MI. Preceding the NYE show are shows in Baltimore (12/29) and Buffalo (12/30).

Wouldn't thought going into October that the only thing scheduled for NYE in Asheville would be Jon Stickley Trio, who is local to Asheville, playing one of the smaller venues in West Asheville (Isis Music Hall).
Got presale tickets for that yesterday. Hoping for a four hour set.
I was at his Echostage show in Feb and he went almost four hours I think. Came in not knowing much of his music and was totally blown away. super friendly, fun crowd too. tracklist.
tЯist♡n will likely be able to better attest to this than I, but doesn't this make zero sense to have at Red Rocks? The xx show is being moved from there to an indoor venue due to snow, and I'd imagine it'd be even worse during NYE.
Revivalists are doing a 3 night run here in New Orleans on the 29th, 30th and 31st at The Orpheum Theater. No hate for them, as I think they're okay. But I won't be there.
Yonder Mountain String Band is doing a NYE show at Club Red in Telluride, CO at The Riverwalk Center and a pre-show on the 29th in Breckenridge. Must be nice.

oh man theyre on of my faves to see live. glad to see them blowing up but hope they dont go the sell out route on the next album.

The weather in Denver is relatively mild for the most part. That being said, it was like -4 degrees one or two years ago on NYE. They're basically just hoping it'll be decent and probably have a backup indoor location.

True, I believe Red Rocks can't operate if the weather is under a certain temperature, so we'll see how this turns out.
Update, looks like it was just some ideas getting tossed around at Bisco. Derek decided against it, Biscuits are playing New York, but allegedly PL will be playing the Fillmore the 28th-29th.

Thanks for the update. Yeah I heard yesterday that a Philly run before New Years seemed likely. Seems like he is going to spend New Years proper in Detroit. Bummer.
A lot of options near me, but none that are really sticking out enough to get me stoked... Looking like it is between Phish, String Cheese, Lettuce, or Gramatik/Big Wild right now.

Saw this^ through Danny's page. I would expect a lot of these guys (if not most) to be out of play for any various NYE shows, for most of us.
Tank and the Bangaz, Sweet Crude, Alfred Banks and Coolnasty are playing Joy Theater in New Orleans 12/31. Not going to this, but it probably won't suck.
Primus will be playing Oakland on NYE with Legend of Seagullmen. Show will be "A Goblin in the New Year". LotS is a Super Group that includes Danny Carey of Tool and Brrent Hinds of Mastodon. Presale tickets go on sale today with the PW "pattern", and tickets for the GP are available tomorrow. Show is at Fox Theater, Oakland, CA.
Previous information on Legend of the Seagullmen from the 2015 songs they released said the band included Brent Hinds (vocalist of Mastodon), Danny Carry (drums), Dimitri Coats (guitarist from OFF!). Jimmy Hayward serves as producer.
