Both 16 and 17 were way better. Not even close. Every change they made this year was for the worse. But I love festivals, thats why I post here. Sad to lose one close to me, if this is the last year.

Just got back from today to and here my thoughts (disclosure: I’ve been to Pano ‘16 and ‘17 and pretty much every Gov Ball so no dog in this fight, 1st day of Panoramas this year.)
- The layout was exactly what was being said, but it’s jarring to walk in and have the whole thing be in one area.
- outside of David Byrne, was the acts felt compromised today. The xx know the needed to end their tour, Odesza production was held back by that stage, and The Killers have played 10 times in NY and it showed. Just noting special.
NYC needs fests, and maybe genre oriented 1-2 dayers are the move, but Panorama is dead. It just felt unexessaey.this weekend.

Man, I loved The Killers. I know people feel like they’re played, but I’ve never had the chance to see them, and they know the fuck how to put on a show.
David Byrne was also excellent. So rare to be able to walk out of a set saying, “I’ve never seen anything like that.”
Actually, fuck it. This whole day was awesome. The festival had its shortcomings, and no mistake, but the music today was so good, all around.
I think you were able to get a good spot near the far left side of the stage, I had great views for all the acts that I saw on Panorama Stage this Sunday in particular (At the Pavilion, not so much) Note that the only 4-full sets that I saw from beginning to end were Rex Orange County (This guy is getting bigger and bigger, everyone around me were into his set) , David Byrne (loved the music & choreography) , The xx (bummed about the short set but felt somehow special due to being its last show of the 2-year tour) and The Killers (who never disappoint as a headliner). (I only got to see the last 20 min of Robert DeLong, left 10 min before Mount Kimbie & Fleet Foxes ended, and just 30 min of Odesza)
I felt light-headed before The Killers took stage and gave up my spot (which was far left side) and sat down for a while at the hill for just the first song of The Killers set, and it was easy getting my spot back.
IMO The Killers were the right band to end Panorama, "Mr. Brightside" felt like the perfect good-bye song for this Festival final year.
Since this fest is done my only regret was in these 3 years not having "the Lab" experience, I guess It'll be moved to the new Firefly.
RIP Pano', you'll be missed! ...on to the next NYC festival (hello Meadows Fest, where are you?)
So for those of you who attended David Byrne yesterday: Am I dumb for not going to see him 20 mins from my house this Sunday? I've been waiting to pull the trigger but it sounds like a no brainer?

What a wonderful day of music. The biggest surprise of the day for me was Rex Orange County who was fantastic. All of the big names completely delivered, and Byrne was the best show of the day imo. Venue was pretty small which had its benefits and downsides, def felt very crowded but I was able to bounce from The XX —> Odesza —> The Killers pretty easily.

Had a really great day yesterday. I’m kinda sad about how they scaled back everything this year. It just wasn’t on par on what I expect from a goldenvoice fest. Biggest surprise of the day was Chicano Batman. That was a fun set. Also caught Rex Orange County , Robert Delong , David Byrne , the xx and the killers. The killers absolutely smashed it per usual. I was about 3 rows back from the barrier and the crowd was fantastic. Brandon is just such a great front man. The xx was special. David Byrne was out of this world. Sad to see this festival go but it was fun while it lasted

The Killers are solid live. I am sure anyone who went had a good time. Personally, I am not that big of a fan and I have already seen them way more times than I would have cared. I wish Florence, Radiohead, or AM hadn't said no and played instead.
But I do think The Killers were the perfect band to close the door on Panorama. Something poetic about the last band to play, being one that is doing the same thing they just did in the same location not that long ago with a few tweaks.

I did not see him yesterday, but I did see him at Shaky Knees this year. Yes, you are dumb if you do not go see him 20 minutes from your house. Glad we settled that.
Also, Panorama threads should all automatically self destruct. Just an idea.
Also, is it 100% certain this is finished? Wasn't there a mention in the article about the acquisition of Firefly that mentioned the continuation of Pano? Or am I doing that thing where I make things up in me head?

Kudos to gov ball for the super timely and exclusive killers booking of 2016. Shame on pano for the sloppy seconds.
My only gripe, and something thats happening more and more at Fests in general and I dont really understand why, is that the sets were relatively short and they had the main stage wide open for four and a half hours before starting on there at 4:40. I get that Greta was supposed to be there and fill an hour or so there, but I dont get why they only gave The XX fifty minutes when there was so much open time. They had plenty of time to extend The Killers, The XX, Odesza, Fleet Foxes, and Byrne by 15 minutes each and been good on time and conflicts.
