If Lana Del Rey playing AEG-owned Terminal 5 means anything, y'all could be in for some fights with psychotic stans next year. I'm still scarred from her Gov Ball 15 set
I think it probably means that the days of Lana true-headlining are over. I could see her in the Solange or Alt-J spot though.
Given how fast these two shows sold out I doubt it. These shows are probably to hype up an arena tour next year. Remember, she played ampitheaters in the summer of 2015 and was actually selling some of them out (as in, filling the ENTIRE lawn).
Fri - Jack White - Run The Jewels Sat - Bjork - Beck Sun - Stevie Wonder - Kygo
While that lineup is awesome, I can't imagine they won't look to book one hip-hop/R&B headliner that appeals to the younger set after the massive success that was Frank Ocean.

Also, keep in mind Pano doesn't really do the opposing headliners dealie. You've got at least four acts on that list that are headliner material for a fest this size.

If they learned from Fri is you gotta book the big pop/r&b acts. Curating a 50k capacity festival with cute critic friendly bands like Broken Social Scene, Belle & Sebastian, Spoon, Alt-J, Nine Inch Nails, etc is not going bring the youngsters out (much as I personally may like those bands).

I'm not sure Nine Inch Nails qualifies as cute and critic-friendly, although I don't necessarily disagree with your overall point.
Personally, I'd prefer if they kept Pano smaller - more like the Pitchfork to GovBall's Lollapalooza. But, of course, that's not necessarily a moneymaking proposition for GoldenVoice, so that's probably not the way it's going to go if they keep at it.
My big question is whether they'll continue to do it on Randall's Island or renew a push for Flushing Meadows/Corona Park. I can't imagine somebody's not going to get in there, eventually; it's just a matter of whether it's AEG or Founders, first.

I don't think anyone is ever going to get in there. Park is used by too many people over the weekend (soccer games, BBQs... It's crazy popular with the neighborhood) and the parks department seems dead set against it. Plus, Randall's island doesn't seem to be hurting them any

Yeah NIN is a bad example. I just don't think they're a huge ticket mover anymore being that they haven't been relevant to in the mainstream for at least a decade. I feel like the critically correct r&b, pop may be the way to go with this festival.

If they somehow landed Beyoncé from Coachella and snagged either/or Vampire Weekend and Arctic Monkeys, NERD and some other good stuff, I think this would sell relatively well.
I hope it comes back next year. With FYF being impossible, this looks like my best non-Coachella fest to attend next year.

Yes, if they somehow landed one of the biggest music stars and cultural icons of the era, sales probably wouldn't be a problem

It's probably a crap-shoot, but I'd imagine Goldenvoice would have a more realistic chance at getting her for Pano than other promoters and their fests due to working with her already for Coachella.

Yeah while highly unlikely, it's not impossible. I was more joking about you saying you think it'd sell "relatively well" when Beyoncé's last show in the area sold more tickets than Pano would be allowed to

Aaaah true, yeah she'd single-handedly lead to great sales.
I just really hope The Cure hit up a couple fests. I'd say this or BC are most likely for the east coast. FYF being most likely for the west. That being said I don't expect em at all.
