I just really hope The Cure hit up a couple fests. I'd say this or BC are most likely for the east coast. FYF being most likely for the west. That being said I don't expect em at all.
Hadn't even thought of them for BC. I'd quite enjoy a chance to see them
I don’t think this year will be about whose “available” and not. I think they’ll be willing to outspend themselves to boot the ticket sales because it can’t go on forever selling so poorly.
I just looked at the tour history for The Cure and it looks like before the 2016 Tour they did lots of random one offs and festivals. And they've had over a year to relax after the new year rolls around. It's also possible they lay low again next year and hit hard for the 30th anniversary of Disintegration. Hopefully a fest or two books them.
AEG is promoting a 2018 Radiohead tour. Gotta assume they'll be here.
In the US? I heard that it was just going to be a small tour in South America. If they do some dates in the U.S., I just hope D.C. is on the itinerary.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

There is no evidence of my claims anymore. They took it down. But AEG is gonna come out with an article soon and it specifically says North America. It’ll also mention them thinking that award shows are too American and how they don’t really care about winning stuff. I saw it on twitter last night and It’s gone today.
I could see The xx playing this. They are doing European festivals and I wouldn't be surprised if they crossed the pond to play Pitchfork and Panorama.

Ugh, I really hope the Weeknd doesn't headline, if only because Panorama doesn't do the alternate headliner thing. I don't really have a lot of interest in him, and I don't know that would change no matter what my - ahem - state of mind is at the moment.

So I get that Lauchpad was trying to recreate the "Popular and relevant R&B Headliner on Friday Night" but it seems like such a step down.
Frank's show was one of his only of the year coming off a masterpiece album. The Weeknd has played like 5+ shows in this area in the 2 years since a mediocre (albeit popular) Starboy album. Idk just feels more like a Gov Ball act.
The Weeknd is a cop out headliner. Having said that he’d move a lot of tickets. I mentioned this in another thread but I wonder how many line ups Brand New was supposed to be top 3 lines on that they were kicked off.

Probably not that many, it's not like they were ever festival staples. They seemed to only do a handful every tour, and if it was going to be their last year of touring I'd imagine they'd lean more towards playing their own shows

Yeah I mean I wasn’t implying they were gonna headline Coachella but certainly they could be towards the top of fests and headline smaller ones. Their fan base is so rabid they could play every 3 months in the same city and it wouldn’t change a thing.
