The fact that they still only have 4 tour dates next year makes me sad and gives me little hope of catching them. I only have tickets to one 2018 fest and they played last year. I'm still holding out hope for an LA date the Thursday before Coachella, but it's not likely.
So you can do any combination of the days for the 2 day pass. This is a pretty sharp move and I think more city fests that have a hard time selling should do this

Wow, yeah, that's cool. I'll still probably go 3-day, but I do hope this is something we see more festivals do moving forward.

I want to do Friday w/ Sunday because of Father John Misty and The War on Drugs but there is just nothing on those last 3 lines. Last year had Foxygen, Vance Joy, Breakbot and Cherry Glazer. They overdid it this year with the random house DJ's and no name rappers. "SUPA BWE" most popular song has 250,000 streams on Spotify and he's not even on the bottom line.

I'm kind of in the same boat but, FWIW, Charlotte Gainsbourg is also, IMO, really good.
I'm honestly hoping we see some later additions - there are significantly fewer artists listed than last year, and they did add acts like Active Bird Community (whose set I really dug) after the initial lineup release in '17.

Supa BWE is pretty cool, he's up and coming but already has features with Chance, Mick Jenkins, Saba, etc.
I'd recommend Daniel Ceasar and Charlotte Gainsbourg if you're considering going that day.
Pretty cool to see this fest getting some love from Resident Advisor and FACT. Along with the cheaper pricing and the option to pick and choose two day passes, it's nice to see them approaching this fest from a fresh/different angle. More indie/rock acts would be nice and if it continues I hope they can find a nice balance between this year's deep electronic focus and last year's big name indie (Tame Impala, Spoon, Belle and Sebastian, Angel Olsen).
Not sure if they've been mentioned in this thread yet, but its also nice to see acts like Downtown Boys and Jay Som pop up. A few more of those and this lineup would be more appealing.

The fact that there's so many great female electronic music producers on here is wonderful. Who knew a multigenre fest could have more female electronic artists than dedicated EDM fests like Ultra and EDC?
Beyond Soulection (toward the bottom of their day) which we will see in about 5 weeks (we're getting Sango b2b Esta b2b Whooligan) <-- see below. Looks promising, but who knows.
Also, there were some knocks on Jlin and Black Origami heading into Day for Night. If you like percussion, the live version was a lot more "live" than the studio albums. She's a good percussionist and beat curator. Unfortunately the only video up is from way in the back at the Blue Stage which doesn't have the greatest acoustics because it's on the basement floor of a concrete structure. Nevertheless, it's worth a pass by in my opinion schedule permitting:
Soulection - Again, I'm assuming you guys will get some measure of what we're getting at Buku which is Sango, Esta and Whooligan. There are many people in the collective. But here's a sample and as you will see, they all have different styles. Based on what I researched last year, they're all somewhat rooted in Hip Hop but all a bit different. Sango has some hiphop elements, Esta is a little more dub/harder style with hip hop and Whooligan is kind of newer at the game. I think I remember reading he was the marketing guy for the collective or something like that.
Esta @ Boiler Room London
Sango DJ Set from San Jose 8/17
The Whooligan DJ Set from Boiler Room London
Some of the other (including past) members are Lakim, Mr. Carmack, Ta-Ku and Dpat. There are more, but I can't think of any at the moment.

As someone who is a relative newcomer to electronic music, it seems like most of the people I know and like at the moment are men. I really like Kelly Lee Owens and the Black Madonna, but I don't know that many other female electronic artists. Who are some of the excellent female electronic artists on this lineup that everyone should check out?
Just want to say most of the electronic music I do like is due to Inforoo recommendations. My friends aren't that cool.

So a day later I still feel like this lineup is SUPER top heavy. They could have just kept the top 2 lines and sold the same amount of tickets (not that doing it that way might save a lot of money). I consider myself fairly informed when it comes to the festival music scene, like I still find names I wan tto see on the bottom lines of Gov Ball but it seems like the majority of the acts here are all the singer/songwriter/producer types. I'll take a listen to some of the recommended above and see if I find more I like. Bummed that they didn't pull off Arctic Monkeys or Vampire Weekend.
Just found our my sister and brother in law have an airbnb in the city thhis weekend for KC vs NYY. Looks like I'm going to make this and roo my 2 fests for the summer.
Prob gonna do a 3 day pass and dip out early on Friday. Also, just realized how excited I am to see Janet again. Can't wait for Rhythm Nation live again!
Really hoping Missy shows up with Janet. She brought her out a couple times to do Burnitup...Missy has new material coming and did FYF last year, hopefully this happens.

I really wish Pano didn't do overlapping set start times. I get the reasoning behind it in terms of traffic flow, but it's a bummer from a try-to-see-as-many-sets-in-full-as-possible point of view.
Man, this day looks brutal for conflicts for me. Byrne vs Mount Kimbie vs Moodymann in particular hurts.
that'd be tricky. I think Mount Kimbie would be the sacrifice since you'll probably have other chances to see them as their stock continues to rise. I'd probably start with Moodymann then wrap up with Byrne since we can assume he'll play Talking Heads stuff towards the end of his set.
The alternative is to go with "who is older" and thus catch all of David Byrne.

I'd go with Byrne because his ticket prices are no doubt much higher than anything Moodymann would/could charge and his stage set-up will probably look amazing on the main stage screens.

The good news is that I’ll likley catch Byrne at Coachella. Moodymann I can see at Coachella as well, but I’d imagine his b2b with Carl Craig and Kyle Hall there will be different from his solo set.
