Friday still has “More Acts to Be Announced”. Could be an error though and will be corrected shortly.
Courtney’s description seems to be describing another band: The Ben Miller Band. Was this a carry over from a booking from last year or could it hint at a Museum Stage act yet to be announced?

Looks like they were part of Pete's Sake last year, so probably just a sloppy copy and paste

So happy to see any new information to get my hype levels back up after such a long stretch of radio silence. But the fact that they are doing museum announcements officially knocks off the "maybe some acts are museum acts" speculation, which means we're still only mayyybe missing a saturday headliner. Curse you people are who are getting my MOF hopes up for the 5th year running.

Don't care, still psyched.
We still have at least a Saturday and Sunday “headliner” unless there was a change or cancellation. “A Change is Going to Come” is not going to be the final set; Jay said it would be the penultimate set at a foundation event a couple of months ago.
For Pete's Sake is starting at 10am on Friday, which means no open mic. But I also wonder if they're going to be starting the other stages earlier. That would open up some room for more unannounced things

REALLY hoping for Billy Strings in the Museum on Sunday. It’s been a while since I checked to see how his tour lined up (last time I checked there was a gap that left it and other routings possible) and it is almost perfect for him to be there on Sunday.
So, with yesterday's Museum Stage announcement of Autumn Defense, we now have three of the six members of Wilco announced for Newport. Jeff Tweedy announced a twelve day solo tour yesterday but has the summer unscheduled. If they hadn't headlined last year I would be guessing that Tweedy/Wilco would be there this year.
Have to say that the Nels Cline set is one of the ones that I am most curious about.
One other thing of note... the Museum Stage sets aren't listed on the regular lineup page when you sort by day, but the More Announcements is still present. Would like to think that "More Announcements" doesn't mean more sets that won't be announced until the day of.
The ongoing exploration of new music that is spurred on through the slow trickle of announcements is one of the things that I have loved about Newport.

With FPS only running from 10am-2pm, there should still be at least another announcement for the museum.

This.
I understand the need from Newport’s perspective (radius clauses, etc.) to have unannounced acts.
But unless that unannounced act is Bruce, Paul (either Paul), or Roger... I’d prefer a different headliner that can actually be announced.
Why? I feel like I get more value from my ticket in the anticipation leading up to the festival than I do from the festival itself. I can guarantee you that my Newport playlist will be my most played Spotify playlist this year (when Spotify gives me my year end review). Passenger, St Vincent, Sturgill, Courtney, and Jenny will likely be some of my most listened to artists for the year.
Not being able to anticipate the act, no matter how good that act actually ends up being, is a bit of a bummer. Even with the extra excitement we get from the surprise, I would rather the surprises be left as special guests as opposed to entire sets.
A band starting to make a name in NYS, Upstate Rubdown, has been booked for two days at Hudson Clearwater Revival, including a top billing on the 2nd stage. Would make a good Museum Act.
Re Wilco as headliners: Same thought, but forgot they headlined last year. Lake Street Dive still fall into that mix? (Still have my money on Queens of the Stone Age, or Reel Big Fish. About 30 of us would have a blast)
very interesting to see Jonny Fritz on today’s lineup, the traveller website has them in Germany the day before. Glad he’s gonna make it, hope he brings Cory and Robert along for a surprise set (or opening for DT late night set)

From David Crosby's twitter: "I have already reached out to Jason Isbell ....we are going to do a couple of tunes together at Newport I believe Love them doing Ohio ....a song for our times"
