So...what are we thinking for Bingo this year? Who are we feeling considering high water and floydfest lineups are out?
Jeeeeez, last year's champ trying to find answers from other people. I'm predicting Snoop Dogg, Slayer, and a Bach hologram. Put them on your card...
I will be doing the Bingo again this year. I'll send out an official post with rules and all that soooooon. Maybe once tickets go on sale. Start thinking of your picks!

This year feels too easy. Lots of Newport favorites and obvious up-and-comers with new records.
I'm thinking Arcade Fire for NFF 2018. The Preservation Hall connection and Jay being at the NY surprise subway gig makes me think that's possible. It's been a few years since Brandi Carlisle played. Expecting her again soon. First Aid kit and Hozier would also be on the radar. Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile? Haven't looked if their tour schedules but I would like to hear their new music live. Glen hansard and Eddie Vedder play together a lot. Eddie met George Wein few years ago and Glen had that amazing nff set in 2016. Robert Plant? That would be awesome. I could go on. I'd encourage everyone who posts here to message their favorite artists once in a while on social media asking them to come play the NFF. The festival organizers have said more than once that sometimes that works.

FWIW Brandi just announced a new album out in Feb. plus some random tour dates including a Boston show in May and a Red Rocks show in August.
Her Boston Calling set this past year reminded me just how much I like her, so I'd be down for her to come back to the Fort. I missed her in 2015 for Sufjan/Decemberists

Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile just ended their tour. From reading some interviews it sounds like CB spends most of her time in Australia, so I think this one's unlikely 8 months after their tour ended.
Plant is a serious contender, but his tour is short and ends in March.
I think Vedder one day but probably not this year, unless someone showed him the Speak Out performance footage. He feels like a prime prospect for being convinced by something like that.

With Courtney and Kurt, it all depends on what route they go next summer. I'd imagine they got a fair amount of festival offers as a pair, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them kick things back up. But if either or both of them have their next solo record ready, they might prefer going that route. Courtney's primed to explode if her next record matches the quality of the last one
Two of my favorites, Jason Isbell and Hiss Golden Messenger, have both announced they will be at Floyd Fest that weekend. Hope at least one of them comes up to Newport next year!

Only thing holding me back from expecting Isbell is his previous statements on playing abbreviated sets, though Newport may be an exception. I'm sure he's playing full length sets at FloydFest (maybe more than one)

When they announced the first batch of artists I tweeted that HGM and Antibalas both better be doing Newport too and got likes from both bands. Isbell seems like a no-brainer too
Jason is already playing multiple festivals next year. He must already be over his festivals “My fans deserve a longer set” gripe.
Savannah High Water Stagecoach FloydFest
Yeah, I think 2018 being a year in between albums, he might feel more comfortable playing shorter festival sets, then when he has a new album out that he's promoting.

Has anyone gotten their pre-sale email yet? I had to do the registration process for the Early Bird Membership twice, so it makes me worried that something didn't work.
