Part of me wonders if the quietness is because Pablo was the one Mafia Carini was talking about so now we're walking down the wrong street with our dicks in our hands. Since our runoff is so similar to the last day's, I think it makes sense to compare who voted for these players this day vs. who voted for them last day. Might be good for sniffing out alliances/distancing, etc. I hope to look at that later tonight since I'm at work atm, unless anyone wants to offer some insight.
Refs! Can we please get some more consistent, and formatted tallies from you guys? It's hard to do tallies on my work machine, which is all I have access to for the next 32 hours. Thank you Potent.
Had I been online this morning I would have moved my vote to preserve a runoff, and to save LLL because, as I said, she's my most likely town read at this point based on her actions towards me that don't make a lot of sense coming from mafia.

I feel like it definitely reads as there was at least 1 out of Zolah/Dan/JR/Potent, and Pablo was covering. I don't necessarily think he was mafia, but I've thought the same. It could be taken as a "shake em up" move, just as much as Zolah's original 3-stack, which I feel like is just as much of a trying to dilute the pool move as his. But convincing ourselves that Pablo was mafia and trying to go from there seems dangerous because he's not contributing anymore to this game and we're going to have limited information from him.
I'm not really sure why we all are surprised of the lack of activity. D1R1 was the only time with any real action, and most of the players involved in they action are dead. Add in the fact that we put some of the same people in the day 2 runoff that were in the Day 1 runoff...
you and zolah are still alive. lll made the only move after d1r1 and she's in as well.
Zolah 3-stacked but that was her only vote.
I'm talking about the 7 vote switches during D1R1. Carini had 3 of them (dead), Pablo had 1 (dead), I had 2 (town), and Maddog you had 1.
So when I look at Day 1, for all the activity, it was really coming from a select few players and most of them are dead or town. That means Mafia seemed pretty damn quiet and non-moving Day 1. Then we get a singing last runoff Day 2...
Feels like Mafia has been quiet so far this game. That really goes against a lot of what Carini was saying Day 1. He was one that was saying maybe 2 Mafia in the D1R1, and if we had 2 Mafia I think we could have expected more movement and discussion, that didn't happen. So that gives me the feeling that the opposite may have been true about the Day 1 runoff (minimal Mafia). So I don't think it was a coincidence that we got a similar runoff and quietness on Day 2 with the night 1 Carini whack feeling like solid misdirection down that path.
As I've said there's probably a mafia between JR and Zolah. I understand the suspicions that people have for LLL but to me it seems like she's being thrown under the bus. I've been wrong before but I think that Zolah has the better case for being lynched here.

I agree with you. Pablo may very well have been Mafia, but to assume that and base every theory we create around that and only try to snuff out two more players would result in the same short-sided playing that tanks town every time.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

This isn't solely directed at you but why would you think that Pablo is mafia? I think he was a pretty decent town read.
I can see why I'm being voted out. I'd vote for me if I wasn't me too based on Carini's posts. I can assure you that I'm a vanilla townie though. As for LLL, maybe she's being put on the chopping block with me because boys are mean... But maybe her move "saving" JR was to gain his trust for a moment like this.

Honestly, I adhere to the belief that the first day run-off lynch is almost always going to be a townie. I say that pretty much every game and did this game (see below) The only reason I entertain the possibility that it may not be the case is because of the whack. Carini pretty clearly shed suspicion on Pablo. Now, don't get me wrong, I would never assume that he is and start building strong theories around it. I do, however think we had Mafia in that first group. It is just trying to figure out which one or two it was.
A townie is almost always going to die in day one, but we make it easier for Mafia by continuing to allow the same players to always end up in run-offs or allowing the same players to always be voted out early (ie, Rummy).

I'm a little confused as to how this is me vs LLL rather than any 2 person combo between me/Danbob/JR. For some reason, someone wants LLL in. I'd also like to point out the one person who hasn't had a single vote cast against him is voting for me.

I understand why people are suspicious about my lack of votes - I would be too - but trying to use that as evidence that you're being targeted is a little weaksauce IMO. I'm not sold on keeping my vote on you.

Fair enough. I don't have evidence though. No one does. I just really feel like this being LLL vs me is strange based on 3 of 4 of us who were originally in it Carini pointed towards, yet the one who he didn't point at moved along. Makes it seem like the final vote is a no brainer.

We sure do love to get rid of the gals early, don't they? 2/9 of us have vaginas, somehow we are the two who are head to head. But to be fair, you were mentioned by the whacked player. So I can see it, obviously, since I voted for you.

I kinda wonder whether Carini was way off and the mafia is content to let us chase his waterfalls.

Well we were all told not to do that in the 90s so we should know better. For real though, you and I both know that the Mafia would only go for that a diversion if they had absolutely no clue who the inspector was, or if the person they thought might be inspector said something so blatant that it would lead the town directly to them (and even then they'd still probably whack the inspector and hope to throw the town). I'm not saying Carini was def Inspector but I think it's wisest to read his posts as if the Mafia thought he may be.
Notes: The two players who were in both runoffs are Zolah and JR. Between these two runoffs, these people voted for them: LLL (2), Jaz (2), JR (1), Potent (2), Danbob (1). Potent received zero votes in this Day. Leading to the first Day 1 runoff, the people NOT voting for any of the Accused are: Tainted, Pablo, and Maddog. Leading to the first Day 2 runoff, neither Maddog nor Tainted voted for any of the people Carini accused. Nor did ZIG. In fact, Tainted and Maddog voted together on one of the people who helped form the initial Day 1 and Day 2 runoffs involving our Accused (LLL), and their votes have stayed there along with ZIG's.
Now, as far as ZIG as concerned, he gets a little leeway from me because Carini voted along with him. But based on how they have consistently not voted for the Accused, Tainted and Maddog concern me. This is bolstered by the fact that LLL (who they're both voting for) leans town to me, based on how she agreed with Carini that there was likely Mafia in that group. Tainted/Maddog are probably not working together (it'd be a bit too obvious), but I think there's a semi-decent chance one of them is Mafia if Carini was right about there indeed being a Mafia among JR/Potent/Pablo/Zolah.
Jaz - as far as not picking any of the accused, my first vote was a shot in the dark, and my switch off of dan was to not have a 5 way runoff, which was something carini did not want, but felt pablo needed to be included. Had a switched from dan to anyone else who was already accused I would've forced another set of switches off of another 3 stack, which I did not want to do.
as far as not voting for them the second time around, JR and Zolah already had votes on them, and instead of having the same runoff I put a vote on someone else. Potent and later Tainted stacked her. No one else new made the runoff, so I did not feel like I needed to change my vote. I wasn't locked into LLL over Zolah, if JR voted LLL, I may have switched.
