The reddit rumors that seem reasonable:
rockhampton Manchester Orchestra Axwell Ingrosso Chrome I Knox Fortune Odesza Post Malone SZA Travis Scott The Wombats Dua Lipa Franz Ferdinand Greta Van Fleet
Take Oshaega's under card, remove a couple of the better acts, replace with radio-rock acts and EDM for Perry's Stage, fill in with other LiveNation poster fillers (see GovBall, Bonnaroo, etc.) and voila!
I should have rephrased the question: I've seen the Osheaga lineup and while I know there will be crossover, but I know that several of the bands I like will also not be playing this festival (YYYs, Alvvays, Sylvan Esso, etc.). Would anyone be so kind as to give me either facts or baseless speculation as to which good bands will be playing so that I can justify going to this when I inevitably wind up with a four-day pass to this on Tuesday?
I feel like St Vincent, FJM and Sturgill Simpson will be here. Hopefully Anderson Paak too
thanks guys. I'm still torn right now between going and not going. Gorillaz was a major reason I wanted to go and those undercard speculations, while not bad by any stretch, aren't quite doing it for me right now (since I'll have seen all the ones I want to except Franz, Brockhampton, and SZA recently). On the other hand, it's still convenient for me to go to this festival and also I've been going for a long time (and have a stupidly unfortunate amount of brand loyalty). The decision would be so much easier if this fest didn't have a blind lineup and wasn't four days.
Tbh this isn’t a huge loss for me personally as long as the other headliners are legit. Chainsmokers will probably conflict with either the Arctic Monkeys or Vampire Weekend, and that’s a very easy choice.

My exact thoughts. They'll most likely oppose someone rock/indie oriented. The National/VW/AM would all work.

Wouldn't Vampire Weekend and the National and the Chainsmokers all close the North Stage? I could see them opposing Arctic Monkeys (on South) vs. Chainsmokers (on North). Then you have ODESZA or Travis Scott as your other North headliner. Or maybe one of them closes Perry's.

Shit, I forgot about Logic. I feel like we have too many North headliners and not enough South. Who's on South? Jack White, Florence, AM, The Weeknd?
South: Florence, AM, Jack White, Travis Scott. North: The Chainsmokers, The National, ODESZA,Logic.
Axwell and Ingrosso close Perry's one night.
SZA as a sub in the top 10.
Potentially swap Florence out with the Weeknd and Vampire Weekend with the Chainsmokers. Final answer.
The Weeknd and Vampire Weekend are basically locks.
South: The Weeknd, AM, Jack White, The Chainsmokers. North: Travis Scott, The National, Vampire Weekend, ODESZA.
Axwell and Ingrosso and Logic close Perry's.
SZA as a sub in the top 10.
I'm not really too invested in this and was just bored, but I don't really see Lolla putting out a top 8 without any women artists. With Florence popping up at Osheaga, she made a lot of sense to me.
Chainsmokers headlining Coachella or Bonnaroo, would be devastating; Chainsmokers headlining this essentially means you get a closer, less packed spot at a show you would have been at anyway like The National or VW.
My best case based on that top 8: Jack White vs. Travis Scott Arctic Monkeys vs. ODESZA The Weeknd vs. The National Chainsmokers vs. Vampire Weekend
Do we have any idea what nights any of those acts might play based on tour routing or J4J or anything?
I think The National has a concert somewhere else on Saturday, and they mentioned in a podcast with Chvrches they're playing the day after them so it's assumed they'll play Friday. Jack White has a show in Minnesota the 6th so Sunday the 5th just kinda made sense I guess for a lot of guesses. Travis Scott had leaked tour dates that had him on Thursday. I'm guessing the rest is just what makes sense counter-programming wise
If I had enough for even the first payment of a GA ticket, I'd be down cause why not. But I won't be. Still excited to see if there's more reveals tomorrow before Wednesday
