Lido was fucking crazy tonight. Got there 5-8 minutes late, he brought out Santell, Knox Fortune did All Night and another new song with Lido, a rapper named J'Von who he did an EP with, Towkio did three songs, Jaden Smith did two songs that were hype as fuck, and Chance came out at the end and did Wala Cam and then Towkio came back out and did Heaven Only Knows with Chance. His solo songs sounded great too. I pictured the other rappers coming out for him but never thought Chance would show up in such a small venue. Great start to my Lolla week.
Buddy texted me that Matt from The National came out for his song with Chvrches
Yeah. They did My Enemy. It was a pretty great set but could have used another 20 minutes. Camila actually has a very nice voice, so I take back anything bad I might have said on the ACL thread Not like I’m excited to see her but talent acknowledged.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Watching this live stream...is this Travis Scott set real life? This is just terrible live...is this just an off show or is he always this bad live?
His fans don’t care. It’s always a spectacle, and they know all the words too. The cubes are kind of cool. His shows usually turn into riots late so maybe that’s something to look for?
I’m not sure what’s going on with this Arctic Monkeys set, but I’m really not impressed. Their 2014 Roo set feels more like a headliner set than this.
I thought it ended up pretty well but the production is way more muted than the ‘14 tour. I feel like this tour needs to be cranked up really loud and probably (hopefully) is for those in attendance.

That’s too bad slack. I have a couple chances to see them in the fall, so hopefully if/when I do, there won’t be sound issues. I’m not 100% going to ACL Sunday, but I’ll see them for sure at Voodoo. Altar stage has been mostly great lately, so fingers crossed. It still looked like a fun ass concert on tv, and the crowd got into it pretty hard. So good for them in that respect.

I was really trying to give his set a chance. Musically I just cant get into it. I get the dope beats, lights, and rowdiness. But the music, and actually hearing what he's yodeling is not good. I kept thinking to myself, what songs of his will be classics in say 10-20 years? Goosebumps? Is auto-tune going to be joke in 5 years?

I haven't seen his live show but I was surprised by how much I connected with the album Rodeo. Oh My Dis Side, 3500 and 90210 are fantastic tracks. Pick Up The Phone is a classic too.
I totally get why Travis Scott is easy to make fun of or write off. But, his music is a little bit of a guilty pleasure for me.
Big party at the Tyler show. Chance’s little brother sounded okay earlier but I still think Chvrches sounded the best of anything they’ve broadcast so far.
For Thursday, Stars, Franz Ferdinand and CHVRCHES were very good. CHVRCHES bringing out Matt Berninger for "My Enemy" was a very fun surprise. Camila Cabello surprised me; I really enjoyed her performance. Yesterday, Dream Wife and Lizzo were my favorites, but Tyler and Brockhampton were very good too, as well as The National doing what felt like a greatest hits set.
Overall, I'm still having a lot of fun at this fest, but they really, really, really, really need to bring it back down to three days.
Brockhampton was a lot more fun than when I saw them at Mo Pop. Greta Van Fleet were actually pretty awesome, but some members of their fan base are definitely asshats.
Alex Lahey kicked ass. Post Animal was fun to sit in the back. Saw Buddy at the Toyota Tent and he's great live, doesn't really need a backing track. He was basically the same at the BMI stage so we left to get an okay spot for GVF. Tyler's show was awesome, got a great spot without being near too many fuckbois.
I wish my girlfriend liked Parquet Courts so I could have gotten closer to their stage, they sounded great when we were waiting to check out Lizzo for a little bit. Didn't stay at The National very long, but their crowd was tiny. Jungle was cool for a couple of songs. The Bruno crowd was FUCKING MASSIVE. My girlfriend went to see Dillon Francis while I was checking out Jungle with my roommate and we met at the back corner of the south field, it was dense basically all the way back to the stairs leading to the buckingham fountain. They're definitely going to look at that crowd yesterday and start bringing in bigger pop acts to headline, you can almost guarantee it. I also wish my girlfriend and roommate weren't so opposed to staying for Uptown Funk, really wanted to hear that song =/
Finally getting ready to go in. I'll be wearing a red RTJ shirt today, I'll be solo so come up and say hi I promise I'm nice. Probably won't make it in time for Sir Sly but here was my schedule
Sat: Sir Sly > Bomba Estereo > Bones > first half of LL Cool J > Carly Rae Jepsen > St. Vincent > Vampire Weekend > Jack White after show
